Out here, people struggle to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship will bring you work, a gun will help you keep it. A captain’s goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying. You got a job, we can do it, don’t much care what it is.

History

In the year 2951, the universe was a vastly different place. Humanity had spread across the stars, colonizing distant planets and establishing intricate networks of trade and governance. Space travel was as common as air travel once was on Earth. Amidst this interstellar expansion, a great war erupted between the powerful United Empire of Earth (UEE) and the rebellious forces of the outlaw faction known as the People’s Alliance. The conflict lasted for over a decade, leaving countless planets scarred and many lives shattered. When the dust finally settled, the UEE emerged victorious, and the remnants of the People’s Alliance were left to scatter across the cosmos.

Among these remnants were five men, each with a unique history and skill set, who found themselves united by a common cause: survival. Once soldiers fighting for the People’s Alliance, their lives took a dramatic turn when their side lost the war. Branded as fugitives, they became mercenary space pirates, navigating the treacherous waters of a galaxy that had no place for them. This is their story.

DCSIX16
DCSIX16, or “Six” as he was commonly known, was a former People’s Alliance intelligence officer. A man of few words, he preferred to let his actions speak for him. Six was a master of infiltration and espionage, able to hack into any system and gather crucial intelligence without leaving a trace. His code name was derived from the digital camouflage system he developed, which allowed him to blend seamlessly into any digital environment. After the war, Six became disillusioned with the ideals he once fought for and joined the crew, providing them with the technological edge they needed to survive.

Jonny
Jonny was the crew’s engineer and mechanic. He had been a chief engineer in the People’s Alliance navy, responsible for maintaining and repairing the fleet’s ships. Jonny was a genius when it came to machinery, able to fix anything with whatever tools and materials were available. His inventive mind and resourcefulness kept the crew’s ship, the Rán, in top condition despite their limited resources. After the war, Jonny struggled to find purpose until he joined the crew, where his skills were not only needed but appreciated.

William “Old Spice” King
Known among the stars as “Old Spice,” this burly and bearded mercenary blends the grit of a seasoned ground combatant with the unpredictability of a free spirit. His background in music and sales, combined with his time foraging in the jungle during his teens, has honed his survival instincts and given him a unique blend of creativity and negotiation skills. Despite his rough exterior and tendency to talk a lot of shit, Old Spice’s mid-tier weaponry skills and growing piloting prowess keep him in the fray. His knack for strategic thinking and offbeat humor brings both relief and results to any mission. Old Spice’s loyalty and strategic mind, coupled with his boxing expertise and evolving dog fighting skills, ensure he plays a critical role in their daring escapades across the stars.

Tonesims
Tonesims, or “Tone,” was the pilot, a man who could fly anything from a small shuttle to a massive battleship. He had been a lieutenant in the People’s Alliance space fleet, known for his daring maneuvers and uncanny ability to navigate through the most dangerous of space terrains. Tone’s love for flying was matched only by his love for adventure. When the war ended, he refused to live a mundane life on a UEE-controlled planet. Instead, he found solace in the open expanse of space, where he could continue to chase the thrill of the unknown. Tone’s piloting skills and fearless nature made him a crucial member of the crew.

PapaKiwi
PapaKiwi, the oldest member of the crew, was once a major in the People’s Alliance special forces. Known for his wisdom and strategic mind, he acted as the crew’s leader and tactician. PapaKiwi had seen the horrors of war and understood the delicate balance of power in the galaxy. He was a father figure to the younger members of the crew, earning his nickname from the respect and care he showed them. PapaKiwi’s experience and leadership guided the crew through many perilous situations, always finding a way to keep them one step ahead of their pursuers.

The Crew of the Rán
Together, these five men formed a formidable team aboard their ship, the Rán. They took on various jobs, from smuggling and bounty hunting to protection and sabotage, always staying one step ahead of the UEE forces that sought to bring them to justice. Their journey was fraught with danger, but the bond they shared and their collective skills made them a force to be reckoned with.

In a galaxy where they were considered outlaws, they found a sense of purpose and belonging. Their story was one of survival, brotherhood, and the relentless pursuit of freedom in a universe that had cast them aside. The Rán and its crew became legends among the stars, a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who refuse to surrender, no matter the odds.
