Black Rock Medical: A History

Founded in 2948, Black Rock Medical began in the Stanton system, inspired by the rising need for independent medical services in the chaotic aftermath of the Messer Era. With the UEE focusing on political restructuring and corporate expansion, many in Stanton’s lawless and corporate-controlled zones were left without reliable access to emergency medical care. Seeing the growing demand, a small group of medical professionals and ex-military medics banded together to form Black Rock Medical.

Operating out of Crusader’s low-orbit stations, the team made use of the relatively stable environment to establish their headquarters while keeping close to Stanton’s more dangerous territories like GrimHEX and the asteroid belts of Yela. Early operations focused on medical rescues for miners, freelancers ambushed by pirates, and those caught in the crossfire of corporate conflicts.

As their reputation grew, Black Rock Medical expanded into battlefield extractions, taking on missions to recover combatants stranded in heavily contested zones, such as Hurston’s restricted industrial areas. Their commitment to neutrality allowed them to rescue individuals from all walks of life, regardless of allegiance.

By 2950, the organization had established itself as a trusted name in the Stanton system. They began offering free rescue services (supported by tips and donations) and grew their reach by recruiting skilled medics, combat pilots, and logistical support staff. They also integrated cutting-edge medical technology from CRUZ Medical and partnered with local traders for supply chains, ensuring rapid deployment capabilities across Stanton.

Today, Black Rock Medical continues to be a symbol of hope in Stanton, responding to distress calls and saving lives in the most dangerous corners of the system. Their motto, “Saving lives, one mission at a time,” reflects their enduring commitment to bringing help where it’s needed most.

In a galaxy divided by greed and conflict, Black Rock Medical exists to defy that status quo. We are not beholden to politics, corporations, or factions—we are beholden only to the sanctity of life.

Our mission is clear:

To challenge the dangers of the ‘verse with courage and skill, stepping into the most hostile environments to save lives others might deem unworthy. Black Rock Medical exists to provide life-saving services across the ‘verse, specializing in medical rescues, battlefield extractions, and high-risk operations. Our goal is to deliver aid wherever it is needed, regardless of allegiance, location, or circumstances, ensuring no one is left behind.

Article II: Values

Neutrality: We are committed to serving all individuals in need, regardless of their affiliations, standing, or history. Integrity: Every action we take reflects our unwavering dedication to honesty, compassion, and professionalism. Courage: We confront the most dangerous situations with resolve and determination, prioritizing the safety of others above our own. Community: We strive to build a supportive network of medics, rescue professionals, and citizens united by a shared commitment to preserving life.

Article III: Operations

Rescue Missions: Black Rock Medical responds to distress calls from any location in the Stanton system or beyond, providing immediate medical aid and extraction. High-Risk Deployments: We specialize in operating within hostile and extreme environments, including combat zones, unstable regions, and deep-space territories. Pro Bono Services: All services are currently provided free of charge, with tips gratefully accepted. Service fees may be introduced upon the launch of Star Citizen 1.0 to ensure operational sustainability. Public Accessibility: All citizens of the ‘verse are welcome to join our public Discord (https://discord.gg/WQHujXrySE) to submit rescue requests, seek assistance, or learn more about our operations.

Article IV: Recruitment

Open Membership: Black Rock Medical welcomes recruits of all skill levels who share our passion for saving lives and are willing to train and operate in high-pressure environments. Training: New members are provided with the tools and guidance necessary to excel in medical and rescue operations, fostering personal growth and teamwork. Conduct: Members are expected to embody the values of Black Rock Medical, maintaining professionalism and respect in all engagements.

Article V: Leadership and Structure

Command Team: Black Rock Medical is governed by a team of experienced leaders responsible for coordinating missions, training, and recruitment. Roles: Medics: The core of our team, responsible for life-saving treatments and patient care. Pilots: Experts in fast and precise extractions, ensuring rapid deployment and safe evacuations. Support Staff: Logistics and operational planning professionals who ensure every mission runs smoothly. Decision-Making: Major organizational decisions are made collectively by the command team, with input from active members.

As the ‘verse evolves, so too will Black Rock Medical. We aim to expand our operations, establish permanent medical outposts, and adapt our services to meet the needs of the ever-changing galaxy. Our ultimate goal is to become the galaxy’s most trusted and reliable name in emergency medical care.
