History

Osiris Repair and Diagnostics got its start in the largely abandoned system of Magnus, after which its founder would be named. The Krovar family worked for Drake Interplanetary, following the company through its reputational trials and working in its factories as mechanics and technicians for at least 2 generations.
All of this would begin to change with the near abandonment of the Magnus system, and the birth of Magnus Cornelius Krovar.

Magnus had an eye for the technical and an ambition of his own, not wholly disagreeing with the Drake branding that the UEE had left the frontier to defend itself, but disagreeing with the company on its handling of its supposed connections with Piracy. In 2924, Magnus left Drake’s technical department and took up freelance work for companies looking for new jump points. Over the next 6 years, Krovar worked as a mechanic on various ships without achieving his goal.
No new jump points were found. Discouraged, Magnus found himself in the Terra system. The difference between the Terra and Magnus systems was palpable. Here, the influence of the UEE was seen and felt. In Magnus, only the abandoned military structures now owned by Drake Interplanetary hinted that the government of the human species had ever influenced the sector. Seeing an opportunity in his new surroundings, Magnus took a chance. Osiris Repair and Diagnostics was established in 2920 with financial backing from some acquaintances.
Competing with larger organizations within Terra proved challenging, and the company soon marketed itself, like Drake, in less fortunate frontier systems, attracting both work and contractors. The slogan for ORD soon became: “Investing in the future.”
Osiris R&D would start investing profits into frontier systems, claiming it sought to make the lives of fringe communities better, and led by the name child of the Magnus system.

Working in such precarious areas, and seeking to prevent the Drake blunders, ORD would eventually seek a partnership with Lost Space Incorporated, a Stanton-based Industrial company with a modest PMC wing known for its clean business model and fair payment of employees. Rather than a merger however, ORD became a subsidiary of the company, retaining internal structures and ownership of its assets, while joining the board of directors for LSI, effectively combining its stake and reputation under the parent company LSI.

ORD Industrial continues to operate in this fashion to this day.
