Welcome to The Outcast Syndicate, we are a small and select group of individuals dedicated to having fun while doing whatever we want, whenever we want. We’ll take on all jobs, big and small and the only question we’ll ask is, how much are we getting paid.
THE ORGANISATION
Little is known of the Outcast Syndicate.
It is believed that the Outcast Syndicate was first established about 15 years ago in a small planetary system within the United Empire of Earth. The known actions of the Syndicate during its existence include piracy, smuggling, illegal trade, supply of illegal narcotics, destruction of property, assault, and murder. Some evidence seems to suggest that the Syndicate has also been involved in a number of fraudulent business transactions and political espionage, however the Federation Protection and Enforcement Bureau (FPEB) denies that this is the case.
The Syndicate is small enough to escape scrutiny from the Military arm of the Federation but large enough to warrant investigation by the FPEB. A number of crimes attributed to the Syndicate appear to have terrorist underpinnings however the Department of Galactic Investigation (DGI) does not categorise the Syndicate as a terrorist organisation (the most recent information from DGI categorises the Outcast Syndicate as an Rule-Breaker Organisation, which is defined as an organisation that often breaches regulations affecting its business purposes). It is unknown why DGI fails to categorise the Syndicate in a more harsh manner.
It is believed by a small number of law enforcement personnel that this group of people have vast knowledge of the rules and regulations surrounding the conduct of government and business in a large number of the operating galactic systems. It is thought that their illegal activities are usually masked behind legitimate business endeavours and that a number of their members may be prominent members of large, well known, and legitimate organisations that provide products and services to the United Galactic Federation and its allies. Some even believe that the Syndicate has ties to Government officials. This belief is widely ridiculed by the majority of those aware of the Syndicates’ activities.
Bureaucrats. Most people think they are lazy and useless. They fill out forms, they waste time, they don’t know much about anything. They are the unknown and unnecessary cogs in the great machine, and the machine does nothing.
We were once those cogs. We were the worker bees, the nameless and faceless, the boring and well-to-do. We worked at our pointless jobs, we were paid our adequate salaries, and we lived our average lives.
Whether from boredom, anger, fear, or regret we made a choice. A choice to live differently. To use our knowledge and abilities in the pursuit of something else. We made the choice to embrace organised chaos.
Ours is not a story of revenge, nor of a vast conspiracy. We are not heroes nor are we despicable villains. We were not forced into our position, we chose it.
We are not the great men and women standing at the forefront of the era. But no longer are we standing behind them.
Our visibility makes us invisible. Our knowledge makes us unimportant. Our appearance makes us forgettable. Our choices make us dangerous.
We are the Outcasts.
The Outcast Syndicate does not make its charter known to non-syndicate members.
