“Wanderers of the Void, Keepers of Peace”

History

The Vision Takes Shape (Mid 30th Century – The Birth of the Fellowship)

Years of service in the military revealed to Ivan a truth: while war had its place, lasting peace and security required knowledge, diplomacy, and the willingness to explore the unknown rather than fear it. He saw firsthand how many conflicts arose from misunderstanding, lack of foresight, or desperation—problems that could be mitigated through better exploration, science, and protection of vulnerable frontiers.

Retiring from formal UEE service, Ivan took the next step in his journey: creating an independent organization that blended his love for exploration with his commitment to peacekeeping. Thus, The Starbound Fellowship was born.

The Fellowship’s Mission and Role in the Verse

Founded by Ivan Kurushoi and a handful of former explorers, scientists, and security professionals, The Starbound Fellowship operates under the guiding principle:

“Wanderers of the Void, Keepers of Peace.”

The Fellowship operates in three key areas:

Exploration & Science: Charting the unknown, analyzing celestial phenomena, and ensuring knowledge is freely shared to benefit all. Security & Defense: Protecting the vulnerable, responding to distress calls, and engaging in law enforcement operations where necessary. Diplomatic Mediation: Acting as neutral arbitrators in disputes, fostering trust between factions, and ensuring that information serves peace rather than war.

While the Fellowship is not a formal military unit, its members are trained to defend themselves and others when necessary. Many of its fighter pilots—some former UEE, others trained within the Fellowship—take up contracts with security forces, ensuring dangerous regions remain patrolled.

Using a fleet primarily composed of Anvil Aerospace vessels, from reconnaissance ships to combat-capable craft, the Fellowship continues Ivan’s legacy—combining knowledge with responsibility, discovery with duty, and wonder with wisdom.

Manifesto

Preamble

The vastness of space is more than a frontier—it is a challenge, a mystery, and a calling. It beckons us to explore, to seek knowledge, and to protect those who venture into the unknown. We are The Starbound Fellowship, bound by a shared purpose: to chart the stars, uphold peace, and safeguard the future of exploration.

Our Creed

We believe that the pursuit of knowledge is the highest calling, that understanding is the key to progress, and that security is a responsibility shared by those who traverse the cosmos. We embrace curiosity, defend the defenseless, and honor the spirit of discovery.

Our Tenets

Exploration as Purpose – The unknown is our destination. We seek to expand the boundaries of human understanding, venturing where few dare to go.

Science as Truth – Knowledge is the foundation of all progress. We study, document, and share discoveries for the benefit of all.

Justice as Duty – The void is lawless, but we are not. We uphold the principles of peace and stand against those who bring harm to others.

Honor as Guide – Our actions define us. We uphold integrity in all dealings, from trade to combat, diplomacy to exploration.

Unity as Strength – We are stronger together. Whether as lone explorers or squadrons in battle, we support our own and extend a hand to those in need.

Our Purpose

The Fellowship exists to serve as a guiding force in the verse. We are explorers, scientists, and defenders—traveling beyond known space to uncover its secrets, ensuring that knowledge is not lost to greed or destruction. We protect the weak, stand firm against threats, and embrace diplomacy when peace is possible.

Our Vow

We swear to uphold the values of The Starbound Fellowship, to never stop seeking knowledge, and to never turn our backs on those in need. We are wanderers, we are keepers of peace, and we will not falter in our mission.

Join Us

To those who hear the call of the stars, who seek purpose in the unknown, and who are willing to defend what is right—we welcome you. The journey is endless, but we walk it together.
