The Union of Global States / TUOGS

In the year 2950, there was a faint idea among the travelers and settlers of the stars. To make their own little slices of pizza out of this pie of chaos and natural wonder. It began as a small corp. Something to fund the small camps. Something to eventually grow business.

THE GREAT PAIN:

In 2951, the people of the Harvest Industrialize Settle and Prosper Corporation/HISPCORP were attacked by a hostile group known as Xenothreat. The Corp was not prepared for a military force that they stood against and crumbled. In its place, the vengeful citizens sought to make their lives more secure, prosperous, and organized. The Corp was powerful, but it lacked the ability to maintain a true military force.

THE START OF THE UGS

Late 2951, citizens formed the UGS under a different name, the United Planetary Alliance. The UPA was known to be fiercely protective of human rights, and fought against threats like Xenothreat, and assisted the CDF very often. The UPA then charged Klescher Rehab Center with several Human Rights violations, including the forced enslavement of prisoners through food by finance, abuse of prisoner safety, lack of safety protocols, and unjust extensions of sentences without judicial overview. They additionally charged Hurston Dynamics with Workers Rights violations, with the terrible conditions citizens live within being forced by their employment, and the lack of financial freedom to escape the city.

THE MARCH AGAINST HURSTON

In 2252, The United Planetary Alliance launched their campaign against Hurston Dynamics. This started with simple protests, but escalated to a planned assault of HD assets. At first, diplomatic leaders pleaded for human rights, but when the Corporation ignored their good-willed pleas, the General-Governor of the UPA Council deployed the military.

At first, outer posts were assaulted. Locations with security personnel were assaulted, ironically many times during Pirate assaults simultaneously. UPAAF Forces were successful in 90% of Operations, with 10% being deemed anomalies, and to be reviewed at a later date.

THE KLESCHER OCCUPATION

The UPA Council deemed that it was time to prove to the galaxy that you cannot use prisoners as slave labor by refusing to feed them. A massive deployment began, Tanks, Anti-Air, Orbitally Dropped Troop Transports/ODTTs, and fleet personnel secured the space above. The prison was occupied for several days, and multiple attack attempts and prisoner recapture attempts were thwarted successfully. The UPA Council pulled the operation after rescuing countless victims of corporate slavery.

REVENGE AGAINST XENOTHREAT

When the Xenothreat attacked, they assumed it would end the poor miners and farmers who barely scraped by. They did not expect those same people to arrive in Stanton during their attack on the system and assist the System’s citizens and Security ward off the bandit scum. When the Xenothreat brought their Idris to front, the UPA brought a Reclaimer escorted by Constellation Andromeda. Many other combat vessels assisted, and they defeated their capital ship after long combat with no losses. The fleet was hailed for their strange choice and yet still effective performance.

THE FALL

It happened fast. The UPA collapsed one day in 2953, many of its leadership passing away from an assassination done by Hurston Dynamics. All forces were left with no command and reintegrated into civilization slowly. But not all leaders were assassinated, but he knew he would be a massive target and needed to remake his image to avoid becoming another name on a grave. He renamed himself, changed his looks, and joined a small empire that was forming. Not long after that, he went into hiding for many years, reappearing recently and reforming a government to once again take on the stars.

THE RECONSTRUCTION

Edimis, the head of the State in the UPA Council, was unable to be found during the assassination, due to his expedition to a system that UPA Explorers recently discovered. His expedition was long, and he returned to find the Alliance on fire. There was nothing one man could do to extinguish it, so he kept the idea in his head, and moved to the back of the crowd.

Now, Edimis, Elected Leader of the Union of Global States, is beginning it all again and wants to right the wrongs. But it is a long climb back to where the UPA was.
