Power in the Star Citizen universe is most frequently defined in negative terms. Power in its predominant guise is a win-lose phenomenon, generally in the form of dominance. Thus, having power over others typically involves taking it from someone else and then using it to dominate, while preventing others from gaining it and/or deposing those who wield such power. Being dominant often means that any actions and decisions affect others adversely. With power over others there comes an enormous responsibility not to misuse or exploit it – a responsibility that is often neglected or ignored because the impetus to sustain such power is the only consideration and goal.

Power itself is neither good nor evil, but can be used to effectuate either. If you want to test a man's character, give him power. The measure of a man is what he does with power.

Real power cannot be given. It must be taken!
