Snorty Jackson was conceived just outside the Klescher Rehab Center where his mother had just finished serving a ten month sentence for slandering the Hurston family name and stabbing a law enforcement officer with a broken whiskey bottle. Her defense was that she was "drunk." When she got out she was 8 month pregnant with Snorty and had no one to pick her up. Not wanting to return to Lorville and heavy with child, she crawled into a derelict and rusted out old Nomad just outside the facility and gave birth to Snorty. She quickly set up a "comfort" station outside the correctional facility were newly released inmates, bounty hunters, transporters and facility staff alike could find comfort in her arms; for a price. The business provided enough to survive so she continued until one day a hauler invited her to join his crew as a "deckhand with benefits." Tired of Aberdeen she agreed, taking a young Snorty with her where he would learn all the "ins and outs" of the free space-life entrepreneur.
