History

The Consolidation Defence Group (CDG) was founded in the year 2850, during a period of political and economic turmoil within the United Empire of Earth. It emerged as a private military group aiming to protect the interests of corporations and wealthy individuals in the distant reaches of the universe.

2850-2860: Founding and Early Growth

The CDG was established by a group of former UEE military officers, mercenaries, and corporate investors who saw an opportunity in the increasing unrest and lawlessness that plagued the outer systems. These founders pooled their resources and expertise to create a private military organization capable of providing protection and security services. Initially, the CDG operated in a relatively small territory, offering escort services for cargo convoys and security for mining operations.

2860-2880: Expansion and Reputation

Over the next two decades, the Consolidation Defence Group expanded its reach, reputation, and client base. Their well-trained mercenaries became known for their efficiency and ruthlessness in dealing with threats to their client’s assets. CDG’s success in safeguarding valuable mining operations in remote systems made them a trusted name among mining corporations. By 2880, they had contracts with some of the largest corporations in the universe.

2885-2900: Rivalry and Conflict

As CDG’s influence and power grew, it began to clash with other private military groups and mercenaries also vying for control in the outer systems. This period saw numerous skirmishes, corporate rivalries, and territorial disputes, with the CDG always coming out on top due to its advanced weaponry and experienced personnel.

2901-2930: Political Intrigue and UEE Relations

The UEE government initially viewed the CDG with skepticism, as they were a powerful private entity operating outside of government control. However, recognizing the group’s efficiency and its ability to maintain order in the lawless outer systems, the UEE began to cooperate with the CDG in various capacities. The CDG provided critical security for UEE mining operations, research projects, and even counter-piracy efforts, further solidifying its influence and power.

2931-2952: Challenges and Evolution

In the early 2930s, the CDG faced significant internal challenges as leadership disputes and changes in the political landscape threatened its position. The group had to adapt to shifting alliances and navigate a complex web of corporate and governmental interests.

By the mid-2950s, the Consolidation Defence Group had evolved into a significant player in the outer systems, serving as both a trusted security provider for corporations and a political entity with its own interests. Their influence reached beyond the military, as they participated in trade negotiations, resource management, and diplomatic efforts to secure their clients’ interests.

The CDG’s journey from a small startup in 2850 to a powerful private military group in 2952 was marked by constant adaptation, political maneuvering, and a reputation for unwavering protection and security services. The Consolidation Defence Group’s story in the Star Citizen universe serves as a testament to the resilience and ambition of private entities operating on the fringes of the UEE.
