History

Inception and Early Years:

The 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment, affectionately known as “7Cav,” emerged from the virtual battlefields in October 2002, as one of the earliest Military Realism (MILSIM) units in the gaming world. Founded by a group of passionate gamers, the Regiment sought to create a unique community that combined the camaraderie of military service with the thrill of first-person military shooter/simulation games.

From the outset, the 7th Cavalry embraced a military structure inspired by the United States Army. However, it adapted the framework to fit the casual environment of video games while still preserving essential realism principles. This approach created a distinctive blend of discipline, teamwork, and tactical prowess within a friendly and supportive community.

Rapid Growth and Expansion:

The Regiment’s early days were marked by intense gameplay in titles like Call of Duty 1 and 2, laying the foundation for the pursuit of tactical realism. But it was in 2008, with the adoption of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, that the 7th Cavalry witnessed a significant surge in recruitment. The game’s engaging mechanics attracted like-minded gamers, fueling the growth of the Regiment.

Around the same time, the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment embraced Arma, a game that perfectly embodied their tactical aspirations. The immersive, open-world experience of Arma drew in even more passionate players seeking a challenging and authentic MILSIM environment. In 2009, the activation of the 1st Battalion signaled a new era of expansion and specialization within the Regiment.

Playing with Honor and Realism:

Throughout its history, the 7th Cavalry ventured into a variety of games, including Day of Defeat, Planetside, and Hell Let Loose. However, regardless of the title, the Regiment stayed true to its roots by upholding tactical realism principles and emphasizing team-based gameplay.

In every game, the 7th Cavalry demonstrated a commitment to playing with honor, integrity, and professionalism. This approach not only garnered respect from allies and rivals alike but also strengthened the bonds between members, creating a strong and enduring community.

Expanding Horizons:

The 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment has always been forward-looking. While remaining faithful to its core values, the Regiment consistently explores new and popular games that support tactical gameplay. It seeks to expand its presence and influence across various virtual battlefields, forging connections with like-minded individuals who share their passion for MILSIM experiences.

The Ongoing Legacy:

Throughout its storied history, the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment has seen fluctuations in its membership, but its core strength has remained unwavering. At any given time, the Regiment boasts an active community of 300-350 dedicated members who stand united in their pursuit of tactical excellence and camaraderie.

As the Regiment moves into the future, it continues to leave its mark on the gaming world, setting a high standard for honor, unity, and tactical realism. The 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment’s legacy is one of forging lasting friendships, facing challenges together, and creating unforgettable memories on the virtual battlefield. And as long as there are games to be played and battles to be won, the 7th Cavalry’s story will continue to be etched into the annals of gaming history.

Currently lead by GOA.Chance.JT, GEN.Kleinman.H, LTG.Burgundy.C, MG.Baeder.S & BG.Tharen.R.
