Welcome to Aegis Aeternam

We’re a small gaming community consisting of a few lunatics group of level-headed individuals.

History

Aegis Aeternam, also known as the Aegis Protectorate, has been around for 6 years now. Founded by Valawyn, we started as one of the largest and most active Supergroups in Champions Online. Gradually, we left CO due to lack of content and moved on to other games. We’ve become a nomadic gaming community, roaming from one game to the next, trying to find a new home. Guild Wars 2 held our attention for quite a while, and after that we were fairly involved with Firefall.

More recently, we’ve found homes in Warframe and Black Desert Online. At the moment, we’re usually split up among many games, though we hang out in our Discord most of the time and still come together for events.

Due to our nomadic nature, at least one of us has pretty much branched out to most games out there. If you’ve heard of it, chances are one of us has played it, or still plays it.

While Star Citizen is on our radar as a game that could be a new home, there are only a few of us here and ready to go until SC hits a major release.

Manifesto

As a casual group, our number one goal is to have fun, particularly with a small group of friends. We don’t have any ambitious goals (yet) about conquering stations or owning a Bengal Carrier.

The point of this group is to have people you can ask to join you if they have similar interests, not to pigeon-hole you into a single role.

Charter

Aegis is a group that leans more toward the casual side of things. We do not throw someone out of the airlock just because they don’t know how to keep their mouth shut. We’re a fun-loving community, and we generally let people play how they want to play. We don’t plan on judging anyone for the way they want to play. It’s up to the individual, and if the community supports their views, that’s just a bonus.

We have our rules, however, few as there may be.

We are family, and as with most families there are some disagreements. Take it to another room and settle your differences there; we don’t need to hear it.

In the game’s public or guild chats, we ask that you keep a civil tone. We joke around, but things like racism (even jokes) is to be kept to an absolute minimum. Our Discord channel is an entirely different matter, however. Anything goes there. Bring your worst and dirtiest jokes. We’ll all laugh. Or we’ll just shake our heads and tell you to go away.

While we like active members, we will not stand there and tell you to be on a number of hours each day or week. Even if you only log in once a month, nothing is likely to happen to your membership unless we’re hitting a cap and we need to make room.

That’s pretty much it. We’re not a very strict group. Just remember that even when we make jokes at each other’s expense, we still have a certain level or respect for each other. We’re a mature group of individuals. We just don’t act like it.
