History
In the year 2678, as humanity expanded its reach across the stars within the Star Citizen universe, a group of scholars, scientists, and explorers became alarmed by the systematic loss of historical and cultural artifacts. The rapid pace of colonization, coupled with escalating wars over resources and territory, was erasing the rich tapestry of knowledge that defined civilizations both human and alien. Recognizing the need to act, a small group of visionaries secretly convened on an uncharted moon orbiting the planet Terra. It was there that Aetherion was born.
The founding members were an eclectic mix of minds united by a shared purpose. Among them was Dr. Alaric Voss, a renowned xenoarchaeologist who had discovered numerous artifacts from the Tevarin Wars. He was joined by Elyria Kael, a former Advocacy agent disillusioned by the bureaucracy’s neglect of cultural preservation, and Selen Vryn, an AI ethicist who feared humanity’s reliance on synthetic memory banks prone to corruption or destruction. Completing the group were Arin Tanos, a UEE Navy historian, and Liora Saedon, a Banu trader who brought her species’ reverence for knowledge and bartering wisdom to the table.
Aetherion began as a decentralized network of hidden vaults and outposts spread across the galaxy. The organization is rumored to have unearthed critical secrets of the Xi’an, the Vanduul, and even ancient Precursor civilizations. The rise of corporate megastates in Stanton, the resurgence of Vanduul aggression, and the relentless expansion of the UEE threaten the delicate secrecy they’ve maintained for nearly three centuries.
