Our Purpose
We, the Alliance of Exploration & Defense, exist to venture beyond the familiar, embrace the unknown, and safeguard the freedom of the ‘verse. As explorers, we are driven by an unquenchable curiosity to expand our knowledge and push boundaries. As defenders, we stand firm, united by our duty to protect those in need and to uphold peace, wherever our journey takes us.

I. Mission Statement

The Alliance of Exploration & Defense (AED) is dedicated to the exploration of uncharted territories, discovery of new worlds, and the protection of those who traverse the vast expanses of the ‘verse. We are committed to upholding our values of unity, respect, and courage in all our endeavors, standing as a beacon of peace and discovery among the stars.

II. Organizational Structure

1. High Command

High Command is responsible for strategic direction, mission planning, and overall oversight of AED. It includes the Admiral and Captain ranks and ensures that AED’s values and mission are upheld.
Comprised of the Admiral, Captains, and Department Heads, High Command coordinates high-level operations, ensures protocol compliance, and oversees inter-departmental missions.

2. Departments

AED is organized into divisions, each with a unique focus that advances our mission. Members can contribute across departments based on skills and interests.

Exploration Division: The core of our organization, responsible for charting unknown regions, researching new worlds, and investigating spatial anomalies.
Defense Division: Tasked with safeguarding AED members, assisting allies, and protecting sectors from threats.
Logistics and Resource Management: Manages supplies, coordinates refueling and repair, and supports AED missions through material and logistical aid.
Research & Development: Studies discoveries, advances AED technologies, and integrates the latest tools to support the Alliance’s mission.

3. Ranks and Membership

AED’s ranks are a symbol of experience, commitment, and leadership within the organization. Members advance by demonstrating skill, dedication, and alignment with AED’s core values.

• Ensign: New recruits showing dedication to AED’s mission. Ensigns receive training, guidance, and mentorship within a chosen department.

• Lieutenant: Skilled members who have proven their dedication and expertise in their roles. Lieutenants take on significant mission responsibilities and serve as mentors for Ensigns.

• Lieutenant Commander: Experienced members recognized for their leadership skills and loyalty to AED. They coordinate teams in missions and often act as intermediaries between junior members and High Command.

• Commander: Seasoned leaders responsible for guiding missions, ensuring departmental cohesion, and acting as decision-makers during high-stakes operations.

• Captain: Senior leaders within AED and part of High Command. Captains oversee departments, contribute to strategic planning, and serve as the final authority during missions.

• Admiral: The highest rank in AED, entrusted with overall strategic direction, mission oversight, and maintaining the core values and unity of the organization.

III. Code of Conduct

Respect and Collaboration
All AED members are expected to demonstrate respect and open-mindedness, recognizing that diversity strengthens our organization.

Commitment to Mission Objectives
Members must prioritize mission goals, whether in exploration, defense, or support roles. Focus and professionalism are vital to the AED’s success.

Integrity and Responsibility
We uphold the highest standards of integrity, acting responsibly and taking accountability for our actions in and out of missions.

Diplomacy and Discretion
AED prioritizes diplomatic solutions, engaging respectfully with allies and neutrals alike. Members are empowered to make thoughtful, discreet decisions in complex situations, balancing legality and justice.

Zero Tolerance for Dishonorable Conduct
AED maintains a strict stance against harassment, exploitation, or any actions that compromise the organization’s values.

IV. Operational Guidelines

Exploration Protocols

Conduct scans and surveys in uncharted space while documenting findings for R&D and logistical planning.
Regular updates with AED base are required for safety and accurate record-keeping.
Defense Protocols

Remain vigilant and prepared to protect AED members, allies, and neutral parties.
In hostile zones, prioritize defensive maneuvers unless High Command authorizes engagement.
Legal Compliance and Discretion

AED operates within legal bounds but permits discretion in exceptional cases requiring urgent action for the greater good.
Reporting & Documentation

All missions, discoveries, and incidents must be recorded for debriefing and archival purposes, ensuring AED’s legacy and integrity.

V. Member Oath

“I pledge to uphold the mission of the Alliance of Exploration & Defense, to seek knowledge, honor my comrades, and protect the freedom of the ‘verse. With respect and courage, I will serve this Alliance, embracing discovery and defending the frontier for a brighter future.”

VI. Amendments

This charter may be amended by a majority vote from High Command, with feedback from all AED members encouraged. Proposed amendments are reviewed during quarterly summits.
