Bringing Other Worlds to Yours.

History

5th May 2945
Founders Day. Derick Avery establishes the corporation using his inheritance. His late father, Cecil Avery, was a philanthropist who refused to turn his back on Earth as so many others did following the rise of Terra as the cultural heart of the empire. Upon his death, and in observance of his final wishes, a small trust fund was released for his son’s use as start-up capital. Intending for his son to make his own name in the ‘verse, the majority of his wealth was donated to various charities. The purchase of initial equipment and hauling vessels comprises the entirety of the remaining Avery family fortune. As a result, Derick is extremely motivated and hopes to one day live up to his father’s august name. The company is expected to reveal a product line by Q4 of 2955.

Charter

Organization Policies & Procedures

Non-Disclosure & Conflict of Interest
Avery is a vertical integration corporation. That means we harvest raw materials, refine them, manufacture product from them, tune that final product and distribute it to market ourselves with no middleman or outside assistance.

Therefore, undoubtedly we will develop our own methods and harvesting locations. The sharing of any of these company secrets may be grounds for immediate dismissal.

Interorganizational sharing of resources and information should be left to upper management and not be handled by the general membership.

Anti-Discrimination
Avery is an equal opportunity employer. We will not tolerate any harassment between employees (including, but not limited to: race, gender, physical attributes, mental ability, sexual preference, religious beliefs, political leaning or moral choices).

Compensation & Dues
When performing a task on behalf of the company, or on behalf of the alliance, you will be paid a fair wage for the work provided. Exact rates can not be speculated upon at this time.

All employees will be required to pay a set periodic tax rate for membership. These UEE mandated taxes will be collected separate from any financial compensation you may be owed due to official corporate requisition. Said taxes pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the organization hangar as well as wages owed for service rendered.

Work Schedule
No employee is required to adhere to a set schedule. Consider all work done to be freelance. The more you do for the company, the more you can earn, but you should never feel obligated to give up your time or resources (aside from monthly membership taxes).

Safety & Security Proceedures
Avery employs a number of dedicated and capable combat pilots. Should you request their assistance on a resource gathering or shipping route, payment for their services must be negotiated and agreed upon before setting out. Any ammunition or ordinance expended in the protection of your vessel is to be reimbursed to the security pilot(s) upon completion of your journey and is in addition to the price negotiated for their time.

Security personnel flying escort for official company and/or alliance missions will be paid from the corporate vault.

Media Relations
All social media and public relations issues should be directed to the the Board of Directors. Employees are not to speak on behalf of the company unless the Board has already made a press release regarding the issue in question, in which case employees may discuss the matter but are encouraged to point all inquiries to the press release for fact checking.

This policy includes all forms of official statements and news reporting, as well as social media sites.

Piracy & Self Defense
Avery does not condone piracy or griefing of any kind. Anyone caught performing such an act will be let go immediately and forgo any pay they may have pending.

If fired upon or threatened with boarding actions and/or destruction, restrictions regarding PvP activity will be lifted until such a time as the employee can flee to a safe location, the attacker is neutralized or they disengage. Employees are not to follow a hostile in the hopes of finishing them off, as this may be a tactic to lead you into a trap.

Leave
Extended absence may see an employee removed from the roster. Anyone requiring a leave of absence should inform the Board of Directors with the start and end dates of the absence, whenever possible.

Corporate Structure

Board of Directors.
The board of directors is a body of elected members who jointly oversee the activities of the organization. New board members are chosen by the existing board members. The board is not directly responsible for the selection of new recruits or the discipline of current members, though individual board members may also hold a position among those who do. For example, as the person in charge of the disciplinary council, the CDO has a vote among the board but is also expected to lead the officers under him in matters of disciplinary action. As we grow, additional board positions may be added as they become needed.
