In the vast and lawless expanse of space, where order is a mere illusion, the Born Losers emerged as a formidable outlaw organization that thrived on the thrill of gambling, high-stakes poker, illegal racing, and audacious acts of piracy. They were not born into greatness or bestowed with privileged backgrounds; instead, they were a collection of misfits, outcasts, and rebels who found solace in one another’s company.
The origins of the Born Losers can be traced back to a remote, desolate planet on the fringe of known space. A group of talented pilots and gamblers, disillusioned with the oppressive control of the dominant corporations and governments, banded together in pursuit of freedom and excitement. They embraced their status as underdogs, seeing it as an advantage that allowed them to slip through the cracks of the system and forge their own destiny.
At the heart of the organization lay the infamous “Fortune’s Ace,” an old but nimble starship that served as their headquarters and home. Inside its walls, the Born Losers cultivated a haven for outlaws, a place where their skills and passions were celebrated rather than shunned. The ship became a magnet for renegades, attracting skilled pilots, expert mechanics, cunning gamblers, and even a few former law enforcement officers who had grown disillusioned with the system they once served.
With their unique combination of expertise in gambling, poker, racing, and pirating, the Born Losers quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the criminal underworld. They orchestrated high-stakes poker tournaments on remote space stations, drawing in the galaxy’s most daring and wealthy gamblers, always ensuring the house had the upper hand. The organization also developed a reputation for organizing illegal racing events on perilous tracks, where speed and skill were the only currencies that mattered.
Piracy became the Born Losers’ most lucrative endeavor. Their fleet of modified and heavily armed ships struck fear into the hearts of traders and freighters across the galaxy. With carefully planned raids and lightning-fast strikes, they looted valuable cargo, swindled precious resources, and captured vessels to add to their growing armada. They were not mere marauders; they were audacious thieves who reveled in the chaos they created, outsmarting and outmaneuvering their adversaries at every turn.
To maintain their autonomy and elude the authorities, the Born Losers became masters of deception and subterfuge. They constantly adapted their operations and eluded capture through hidden bases, encrypted communication channels, and an intricate web of contacts and informants scattered across the galaxy.
While the Born Losers were feared and condemned by many, they also became a symbol of defiance for those who sought to challenge the established order. Their exploits inspired countless individuals who yearned for freedom and the chance to live life on their own terms. They stood as a testament to the notion that even those deemed “losers” by society could rise up and carve their own path among the stars.
As the Born Losers continue their reckless pursuits, their legend grows. Whether it’s the thrill of a winning hand, the rush of crossing the finish line first, or the exhilaration of claiming another ship’s plunder, the members of the Born Losers embody the spirit of those who refuse to conform and embrace the boundless possibilities that lie beyond the law.
We are mercenaries, soldiers, support crew, medics, gunners, cargo runners, data smugglers and just about anything and everything else you CAN be in the verse. Short and simple. Do you need an escort, or someone to guard your mining expedition? Maybe you need someone to deliver your valuable cargo through low sec space? Maybe you need surveillance, or someone that will gather highly sensitive information? Or maybe you need someone to liquidate a designated target? You give us the task and we return with a price tag.
We are band of friends, outlaws, criminals, haulers, miners, old soldiers and explorers. You can do whatever you want. Just remember when you’re living on the opposite side of the law, be sure to shield your identity!
We want to head into unclaimed space and call it our home. Planetary outpost or space station, or even a Kraken floating on the dark side of the moon. That’s our goal, to give our members a place where they can gather, have fun, set out on expeditions and excursions into the unknown. Get ready to battle or just relax playing poker with friends.
We are just enjoying the game as it is, checking out new game-play loops and mechanics at release, teaching new players, looking for trouble from time to time, making money together for those shiny new ships in game or new components.
