CDC, a meta-organization to help coordinate medical gameplay in the verse – for mutual benefit.
It’s an open parley organization with the structure of a congress of equal rights. It provides diplomatic immunity for its members. All members will be affiliates and equals under equals.

History

[ CDC ] Centers for Death Control and Prevention

Even older than the ⚕Hippocratic Oath , medicine has developed with other arts and professions. Today, the Centers for Death Control and Prevention (CDC) control and try to prevent the ☠deaths of spacewomen and spacemen in the verse. Our affiliated spacemedics are responsible for emergency medical treatment at the site of wounding, primary care and health protection, resurrection service, evacuation from a place of injury or illness, and ☣cloning, ⚛︎re-awakening, and ꙰꙰꙰ respawning services.

CDC’s affiliated ✱spacemedics in the expanse of the Persitent Universe are those Guardian Angles who are trained to provide first aid to the injured. Often they are choice search and rescue (SAR) professionals. Some are cybernetic and clone scientists, able to augment and resurrect the near deceased from neuroscans and genetic samples into ai-enhanced replicas of their former self – almost in no time. In a serious medical emergency, CDC ✱spacemedics even have the authority to countercommand orders from gold, silver and brass [≛]combat officers.

Manifesto

Being a spacemedic is a necessary job, but it isn’t a glamorous one. While everyone else is having all the action, a spacemedic is stuck in the back watching life bars go up and down applicating some healing buffs and managing life saving robo stretchers. They are not up front battle action, because they’re rather vulnerable and it might be that everyone is shooting for them.

While spacemedics still serve as the primary healers and buffers, they have the limited ability and incentive to leap into the action, too. Enemies that try to shoot the spacemedic first will find that they won’t go down as easy as they expected when they can utilize energy shield modules. Healers often find it necessary to pick up some combat ability if they don’t want to be stuck in the background every time, while serving under the universal ethics of the CDC oath.

CDC spacemedics[«꙳»] are supposed to go into combat with no to limited weapons and treat the wounded of either side. However, they are often armed with special pistols. But CDC’s spacemedical doctors predominately fight death ☠️ with medical knowledge and equipment, and search and rescue spacewomen and spacemen in need.

We the CDC offer a wide variety of products and custom options designed for rapid healing cell therapies. We specialize in developing custom closed-system designs for both small and large scale healinging and our standard products are also available for research applications. Our products meet Tier I-IV biocompatibility standards and are manufactured in our ISO Class 9 cleanfactories. CDC’s quality fabrications are PU-ISO-3485 certified ⚈.

Charter

All newly qualified spacemedics of the CDC’s School of Medicine partake in a ceremony in which they declare their commitment to assume the responsibilities and obligations of the medical profession ::

I solemnly promise that I will to the best of my ability serve self-aware sentient higher life in the Persitent Universe — be it human or alien in nature.

According to universal ethics, I will care for the sick, promote good health, alleviate pain and suffering, resurrect, clone, and respawn the deceased.

I recognise that the practice of spacemedicine is a privilege with which comes considerable responsibility and I will not abuse my position. I shall never intentionally do or administer anything to the overall harm of my patients.

I will not permit considerations of gender, race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, nationality, or social standing to influence my duty of care.

I will oppose policies in breach of universal rights and will not participate in them. I will strive to change laws that are contrary to my profession’s ethics and will work towards a fairer distribution of health resources.

I will seek to promote the advancement of medical knowledge through teaching and research. I make this declaration solemnly, freely, and upon my honour.

This oaths expresses an overriding concern for the welfare of the patient and a determination that the knowledge of medicine should never be used to do harm. This Oath is less binding in practical matters, but more empathic about the moral purpose of the medical profession. It focuses on treating the sick rather than the disease. It is a solemn promise to provide care and healing, prevent disease where possible and treat individuals with respect and compassion. It is a symbol of universal ethics, and if a doctor breaks any part of the oath, it is typically a matter of conscience than law. The exception to this is how the doctor breaks the oath, and if he is guilty of an actual crime, such as malpractice or neglect. The oath also highlights the importance of continued medical education, research, and professional development. It encourages openness and accountability in dealing with adverse clinical events.
