THE DEEP SPACE WAY

Since the invention of the tool, man’s curiosity has led us to explore, discover and create humanity’s presence in the stars. Along our evolutionary path journeymen, sailors, truckers, pilots and spacers alike have all carried on those time-tested traditions of their trade and deep space industrial work is no different. Deep space can be rough or it can be rewarding. Having the skills, the know-how, and the network helps with it being a higher chance for reward. We were all novices when we first arrived and were looking for somewhere to go that was safe to learn the skills of the deep space industrial trade. Deep Space Union is here to spread forth the knowledge of the deep space industrial trade to whoever seeks it. New spacers reach out, help out and learn. Old spacers reach out, help out and teach. A wise man once said, “An apprentice spends his time reflecting on what it is to be a master and a master spends his time reflecting on what it was to be an apprentice.” Share your knowledge.

As man’s desire to build became more creative, advanced, and complex so did his trade skills. To keep up with industrial evolutions, so too did the tools, equipment and vehicles evolve. A deep spacer has a unique assortment of tools and vehicles at his disposal. To properly know how to use them or crew them takes a network of skilled spacers. Need a crew to help man your Mole or maybe you need to know the best loadout for your Prospector? Being able to be part of a pool of industrious spacers is vital to any independent deep-space operation. That’s the advantage of being part of the Deep Space Union. Deep spacers are there for one another to train and share knowledge of the industry and the ‘Verse’ to one another. For us deep spacers, when we’re there for the Union, the Union is there for us! Who knew, the first time a man laid a stone to build a structure to keep him sheltered that it would lead to the foundational blueprint for building cities in the stars? Yet so much more came from the engineering marvels that were built. The most important foundations built were the ones formed by the relationships between the many men and women of the trade. That’s the comradery of the Deep Space Union. Who else would you want helping to man your Carrack on a deep space survey mission other than the people you can trust that you build bonds and friendships with? What about the spacer who calls out in distress? He’s out of fuel or he’s under pirate attack? He needs help and we are there. We have to be. Deep space is vast and dark and sometimes the only safe harbor are the lights of a fellow deep spacer. Share your humanity.

The Deep Space Union was formed to create an active trade skill network for new and veteran spacers without hardcore commitment to a corporation, syndicate, or private military organization while helping to promote independence in the deep space industry. I’m KorbenKenobi and I’m a Deep Spacer. I formed the Deep Space Union in hopes of creating a network of skilled spacers to share their knowledge, their tools, and their humanity as the “VERSE” continues to expand.

CHARTER OF THE DEEP SPACE UNION

Preamble
We, the founding members, united by the shared pursuit of peace, prosperity, and progress in the vast expanse of deep space, hereby establish the Deep Space Union (DSUN). This charter shall serve as the foundation for our collective governance, cooperation, and aspirations for a harmonious interstellar future.

Article I: Foundational Principles

1. Unity and Cooperation: DSUN is founded on the principles of mutual respect, collaboration, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
2. Sovereignty: Each member retains its sovereignty and independence while adhering to the collective goals of the Union.
3. Universal Rights: DSUN upholds the rights to life, liberty, and self-determination for all sentient beings.
4. Scientific Advancement: The Union prioritizes research and innovation to advance knowledge and improve quality of life across the galaxy.
5. Environmental Stewardship: DSUN commits to the preservation of interstellar ecosystems and responsible resource utilization.
6. S.O.L.A.R. Doctrine: The S.O.L.A.R. Doctrine serves as a comprehensive framework for strategic planning and execution in high-stakes scenarios, emphasizing adaptability and precision. Each element of the acronym represents a critical pillar of success:
   Survey, Operations, Logistics, Ascendency and Reinforcement.
   Together, these pillars form a dynamic, scalable doctrine suitable for both military and civilian applications, from planetary defense to deep-space exploration and settlement.

Article II: Command and Divisions

1. Union Council: The highest governing body of the DSUN, composed of representatives from each Division along with Union Command, responsible for major policy decisions and legislation.
2. Union Command: The administrative division overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Union, led by the Admiral of fleet command. Union Command has the power to veto any decision of the Union Council it deems detrimental to the Union.
3. DSUN Divisions:
   1. SIERRA DIVISION: (Survey) – Gathering intelligence and analyzing the environment to understand the terrain, threats, and opportunities.
   2. OSCAR DIVISION: (Operations) – Coordinating and executing industrial actions with efficiency and cohesion.
   3. LIMA DIVISION: (Logistics) – Ensuring seamless supply chains, resource management, and support systems to sustain prolonged efforts.
   4. ALPHA DIVISION: (Ascendency) – Gaining and maintaining strategic superiority to outmaneuver adversaries and achieve objectives.
   5. ROMEO DIVISION: (Reinforcement) – Bolstering ranks and fortifying the Union to solidify gains and prepare for future challenges.

Article III: Membership and Participation

1. Eligibility: Membership is open to all sentient species, civilizations, and entities demonstrating adherence to the principles of the DSUN.
2. Admission: Prospective members must apply through the Supreme Council and undergo a vetting process.
3. Participation: Members are expected to contribute to DSUN initiatives, share resources equitably, and abide by collective decisions.
4. Withdrawal: Members retain the right to withdraw from the Union, provided due notice is given to the Supreme Council.

Article IV: Rights and Privileges

1. Representation: Every member entity is entitled to representation in the Union Council and equal voting rights.
2. Protection: DSUN guarantees the defense of its members against external threats.
3. Resources: Members have access to shared resources, technologies, and knowledge pools maintained by the DSUN.
4. Dispute Resolution: The Union provides mechanisms for the peaceful resolution of inter-member conflicts.

Article V: Industry and Security

1. Economic Collaboration: The DSUN fosters interstellar trade, industrial partnerships, and economic development across member entities.
2. Security Framework: A unified security protocol ensures the protection of trade routes, space stations, and planetary systems.
3. Technological Standards: Members agree to comply with Union standards for technology to ensure safety and interoperability.
4. Sanctions: The Union Council may impose sanctions on members or external entities that violate DSUN principles.

Article VI: Amendment and Review

1. Amendment Process: Amendments to this charter require a two-thirds majority vote in the Union Council.
2. Periodic Review: The charter shall undergo review every galactic cycle to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
3. Transparency: All proceedings and amendments must be documented and accessible to the public.
