History

Much of humanity has taken up arms to defend from the onslaught of darkness and decay that awaits within UEE society and the void of the universe. The time of futility has been long and oppressive; the corruption of the UEE runs deep within the structure of humanity. It has become the coil of a viper, teasing and twisting the very futures of the lives it once swore to protect. Rumours of corruption spread across solar systems as it spreads its dark, twisted fibres through congress and President Garron’s own administration, as well as the President himself if the rumours are to be believed.

Two men who have served in UEE military for 30 years have made a decision that will shape our future.

Ulysses Logan and Daniel Northcott met in their early twenties on a military Bangle called the Corsair. They were both assigned the task of protecting the space around Synthworld. As the years passed they watched as the bustling middle class of the U.E.E. core world diminished from the successes of the past centuries. From lush dwellings of some worlds to whole star systems, economically collapsed as the middle class all but disappeared from existence. Beautiful pristine neighbourhoods and cities changed into crime-ridden and sodomized ghettos. The cry of trillions of souls only being echoed on the black-net of MobiGlas broadcasts, while the rich of society fed off the credits of the middle class to fund the UEE’s endless machine of so called repentance.

Manifesto

Exploration and Conquest

The Eden Directive strives to be an influential exploration organization in the Star Citizen universe. Eden’s short and long term agendas are expansive and non-limiting. We intend on offering various services to the public such as securities, sales, resource trading and more. In addition to this, we plan on providing resources for our in game goals for members, in addition to information and other materials. We have forums, a mumble server, a subreddit and a website either in use or developed for members and public to interact.

Structure

The Eden Directive has the structure of a democratic socialism. Each vote will count equally and we will strive together towards larger achievements. The organization will have dynamics in place to cover costs such as insurance, AI, fuel, repairs, upgrades, weapons, etc. for guild resources.

We have 5 electoral council positions: exploration, security, commerce, acquisitions, and community. Each council head is elected over a week long vote every 3 months. Once elected, they help to organize the organizations direction in their respective fields, organize members for related activities, put forward votes, as well as answer member concerns, inquiries and ideas.

The organization also has two chancellors, who are the founding members. The chancellorship of the Eden Directive is in place to manage the votes, act as final liaison between The Eden Directive and other groups, to act as administration and to serve as a dispute resolution body.

The Eden Directive’s stance on activities

You’ll find Eden supportive of most in-game activities. Our primary dedication is to Eden, and do not heavily concern ourselves with the movement of other groups. We remember that S.C. is about having fun and we don’t want to limit your ability to do so.

Exploration

Initially we want to secure a piece of space and access to some raw materials/factories to establish a basis for our operations. After this is completed we will launch a dynamic exploration campaign with scouting parties to find new and interesting items across the universe. We want new discoveries to help move Eden and its members towards strength and prosperity, and to gain a competitive advantage.

Resources

Our first priority will be to secure important resources such as fuel, metals, food, and water for our members. Beyond that, we would like to start expanding to the point where Eden can manufacture upgrades for player ships, manage repairs, dispense fuel for missions, and offer security for members on its own.

Engineering

As the game ages we hope to have a few members with knowledge and skill to serve as a resource for engineering, repairs, and upgrades. They should be able to direct organization activities to support members and the missions at hand. Expanding and evolving our engineering capabilities will be a priority after establishing a safe haven for members.

Trading

Within resources and engineering Eden is leaning towards gearing our production towards the manufactured goods that consist of the raw materials we already have secured or can easily access. Close scrutiny of the trade markets and selling to the highest bidder to support our members and organization will then be our objective.

Transport

We want to protect our own interests first (this will involve protecting trade frigates that are traversing space to one of our planets/factories/space stations), but may look at supporting members who want to tackle such missions with the resources they need.

Freelancing

We want members to experience all aspects of the game, which will at times include distribution of organization resources to pursue non-organization related interests pending approval from other members. Systems and tracking will be in place to prevent exploitation.

Security

Providing members a secure section of space and peace of mind when traversing the galaxy is an organization priority. There will be individuals in charge of dealing with member security issues and asset protection.

Scouting

Eden will organize members into scouting parties and support them with the necessary resources to traverse the systems. We envision members working closely with each other and near-system resources in order to discover and report resource locations, organizations, aliens, and enemy activities in the areas. We will have a fleet available to support scouting parties at a moment’s notice as often as possible.

Infiltration

As our relationships (alliances, competitors, and agitators) come into better focus, this dynamic can and will be discussed among members further. We certainly see the value of these types of activities in the right circumstances.

Bounty Hunting

While pursuing this end won’t be an early priority for the guild, when a comfortable military presence is established via profit/profit sharing/manufacturing and engineering, this could be a dynamic that will be available for some members with guild backing.

Smuggling/Piracy

These two activities are not in Eden’s initial plan for expansion, but may be discussed in the future depending on our members’ wishes.
