Outside of Star Citizen

Our founding members came together through the Equestria Royal Guard, established May 27th, 2012. At that time, we were purely a MechWarrior Online clan. Interest in the game waned after the open beta began and continued to decrease for months through many questionable patches and alterations to the game.

Eventually, those members who had become disenchanted looked to other games that were free to play so that they could continue playing together. Small groups of former MWO players began to rally around such games as PlanetSide 2, DotA 2, World of Tanks and War Thunder.

On the first anniversary of the community, the clan leader stepped down and passed control to Nytus. One of the first things he did was establish autonomous branches for the games with the largest amount of interest. Star Citizen was one of those games, and so this organization was founded.

Outside of Star Citizen

It is the intent of the EQRG to have fun playing this amazing space simulator together. We were established by a preexisting multinational brony gaming community, therefore our goals are many and varied. Some want to be merchants, some want to be explorers, and many seem to want to shoot things long past the point that they stop shooting back.

Whatever you want to do, so long as it isn’t piracy, we have people who want to do it too! Our organization does not condone piracy. You may not deliberately disrupt the enjoyment of others while flying our colors.

General Out-of-Character Policies

The Equestria Royal Guard is a Star Citizen organization. This means that we are only accepting members who have a paid package on the RSI website and who have submitted an application on both our website and the RSI organizations page.

TeamSpeak is required. You do not necessarily have to speak (although this is strongly encouraged for in-game communication), but you must be able to at least hear any orders that may be given.

Be respectful of this community. Star Citizen aims to be an immersive experience, and we ask that you not pull people out of that immersion with unrelated and distracting content. This includes content from other fandoms (such as Furries, Star Trek, Anime, My Little Pony, Politics, Religion, etc…). While all of those things exist in Star Citizen, there is little reason to believe that they will be at all relevant in 2945 and may even draw unwanted attention to yourself and your org-mates. Avatars are fine, but please limit your post content and signatures accordingly.

General In-Character Policies

Piracy and griefing of any kind will not be tolerated. Bounty Hunting is permitted, but the bounty must be issued by the UEE and not a private citizen (This is subject to change once the PU launches and we see how grief-able the bounty system is).

The Captain’s Word is Law. While performing the role of crewman on a larger ship, the owner of the ship has the final say in all things. In the absence of the owner, the captain given command of the ship is to be heeded unconditionally. Once the ship is safely back in UEE space you may take any concerns you may have regarding the captain to your Department Manager, but while on board you are to follow their orders. The exception to this rule is when an order can result in no other outcome than death, such as flying into a star or assaulting a Vanduul Kingship alone.
