Welcome to the Hades Vanguard

We’re a Hardcore Organization, but we maintain a laidback approach to regular gameplay. While we encourage hardcore play, casual gaming is also welcomed.

History

Hades Vanguard
Founding Year: 2955
Callsign: HADE5

Origins:

Hades Vanguard was born from the ashes of a failed archaeological expedition to the Hades System, a grim and enigmatic region of the United Empire of Earth (UEE) steeped in mystery and death. The system, known for its desolate planets and the remnants of an ancient, extinct alien civilization, became the crucible that forged this elite paramilitary organization.

In 2953, a UEE-sanctioned archaeological mission sought to uncover the secrets of the Hadesian extinction event. The team included scientists, mercenaries, and independent contractors tasked with exploring the Hades III ruins. What started as a promising discovery of alien artifacts quickly spiraled into chaos when rival scavenger groups and rogue outlaws descended upon the site, eager to claim the spoils. The expedition’s security forces were overwhelmed, and many of the researchers were either killed or forced to flee.

Among the survivors was Space Marshal Musashi Miyamoto, a seasoned ex-UEE Navy officer who had been hired to oversee security for the mission. Disillusioned by the lack of preparedness and the UEE’s abandonment of the survivors, Musashi Miyamoto vowed never to let such a tragedy happen again. He spent the next two years gathering a cadre of skilled operatives—veterans, mercenaries, and explorers—to form a new kind of organization: one that thrived in the darkest and most dangerous corners of the galaxy.

Formation:

In 2955, Hades Vanguard was officially established. The organization took its name and identity from the Hades System itself, embracing the lessons of resilience and survival learned amidst its ruins. The callsign “HADE5” was chosen as a nod to both the system and the five core values the Vanguard was founded upon:

  • Adaptability: Survive and thrive in hostile environments.
  • Discipline: Maintain precision and professionalism in every operation.
  • Loyalty: Protect fellow operatives and clients above all else.
  • Resilience: Overcome insurmountable odds.
  • Vigilance: Always remain prepared for the unexpected.

The organization’s base of operations was established, Tartarus, stationed in orbit around Hades II. This mobile command center allowed the Vanguard to maintain a constant presence in the system while offering the flexibility to deploy anywhere in various Systems with rapid speed.

Mission and Operations:

Hades Vanguard operates as a Private Military Company (PMC), offering a wide range of services, including:
  • Asset Protection: Guarding high-value shipments, corporate facilities, and individuals.
  • Exploration Security: Escorting scientific and exploration missions into uncharted or hazardous systems.
  • Counter-Piracy Operations: Suppressing outlaw activity and safeguarding trade routes.
  • Salvage and Recovery: Conducting deep-space salvage operations and retrieving lost assets.
  • Cargo and Trading: Conducting high and low value trades, as well as moving both large and small amounts of cargo.
  • Org co-operation: Establishing trade and security as well as other activities like the previous mentioned, but most importantly helping one another out when needed.

While the Vanguard accepts contracts from corporations, private citizens, and occasionally the UEE, it maintains a strict code of ethics.
Contracts involving unlawful activity, slavery, or exploitation of vulnerable populations are categorically rejected.
This stance has earned Hades Vanguard a reputation as an honorable yet formidable force within the chaotic expanse of the ‘verse.

The Hades Legacy:

The Hades System’s haunting history remains a core element of the Vanguard’s identity.
Operatives undergo rigorous training that includes survival drills on Hades II’s barren surface and simulated combat scenarios inspired by the deadly skirmishes that defined the system’s modern history.
Additionally, the organization take part in ongoing research into the Hadesian civilization, seeking to unlock its secrets while preserving its legacy.

Main Motto: “From Ruin, Resolve. From Shadows, Strength.”

Hades Vanguard’s emblem, a stylized reaper overlaid with a green flame, symbolizes the balance between death and enlightenment that defines their origins.
To join the Vanguard is to embrace the chaos of the unknown and emerge stronger, a philosophy that guides their every mission.

Future Aspirations:

Hades Vanguard’s leadership continues to expand its influence across the galaxy.
Recent initiatives include establishing alliances with other PMCs and securing exclusive contracts with major corporations such as Shubin Interstellar.
As the organization grows, it remains steadfast in its commitment to the values and lessons that arose from the Hades System’s desolation.

In the unforgiving darkness of the ‘verse, Hades Vanguard stands as a beacon of order and strength, proving that even amidst ruin, a new legacy can rise.

Cerberus Squad: Aces of the Hades Vanguard

Founding Year: 2955
Callsigns: Cerberus-1, Cerberus-2, Cerberus-3 (and beyond)

—-

Origins:

Cerberus Squad, the elite ace division of the Hades Vanguard, was formed in 2955, in the same year as the organization’s inception. Named after the mythical three-headed guardian of the underworld, the squad represents the Vanguard’s ability to strike with precision, protect its own, and maintain relentless vigilance in any operation.

The need for such a specialized unit became apparent after the Battle of Hades Reach, a pivotal engagement in which Hades Vanguard forces repelled a rogue outlaw fleet attempting to exploit the ruins of Hades III. During this battle, a trio of Vanguard fighter pilots demonstrated extraordinary skill and coordination, holding off superior numbers until reinforcements arrived. Their actions not only secured the Vanguard’s victory but also cemented the reputation of small, highly skilled fighter wings as the backbone of the organization’s operational strategy.

Following the battle, Their commander was tasked with creating an elite squadron to act as both the spearhead and shield of the Vanguard’s operations. Thus, Cerberus Squad was born, and its pilots were given callsigns reflecting their connection to the mythical guardian—Cerberus-1 for the squadron leader, Cerberus-2 and Cerberus-3 for the second and third wing members, and additional designations as the squad grew.

Mission and Role:

Cerberus Squad serves as the tip of the spear for the Hades Vanguard, specializing in:

Interception and Defense: Neutralizing enemy fighters and protecting high-value assets during critical missions.

Escort Operations: Providing top-tier security for exploration teams, corporate convoys, and diplomatic envoys.

Precision Strikes: Conducting surgical strikes on high-priority targets, often in hostile or heavily defended territories.

Reconnaissance: Gathering critical intelligence in high-risk environments.

While all members of the Vanguard are highly trained, Cerberus pilots undergo additional rigorous training, focusing on dogfighting tactics, formation flying, and zero-G combat scenarios. Pilots are also expected to master a range of spacecraft, from nimble fighters like the Anvil Arrow to heavier combat ships like the Aegis Sabre and Vanguard Harbinger.

Symbolism and Identity:

Cerberus Squad’s emblem depicts a three-headed hound wreathed in green flames, mirroring the Vanguard’s overall motif while emphasizing the squad’s role as the organization’s fiercest protectors and enforcers. The motto “Three Heads, One Bite” underscores the unit’s unparalleled coordination and efficiency in battle.

Each pilot in the squad is handpicked not only for their skill but also for their loyalty and dedication to the Vanguard’s core values. To fly with Cerberus Squad is to represent the pinnacle of what the Hades Vanguard stands for—discipline, resilience, and unyielding strength.

Notable Operations:

Cerberus Squad has played a critical role in several high-profile operations, including:

Operation Black Veil: Tasked with escorting a Shubin Interstellar research convoy through the uncharted reaches of Pyro, Cerberus Squad successfully fended off multiple pirate ambushes, ensuring the safe delivery of critical data.

The Skovlan Ambush: During an intense counter-piracy mission, Cerberus-1 and Cerberus-2 engaged a heavily armed outlaw fleet, disabling their command ship in a daring maneuver that showcased the squad’s unmatched coordination.

Silent Hunt: A stealth operation that required Cerberus Squad to infiltrate hostile space and eliminate a notorious pirate warlord. The mission’s success further solidified their reputation as the Vanguard’s deadliest unit.

Future Aspirations:

Cerberus Squad remains at the forefront of the Hades Vanguard’s operations, training the next generation of ace pilots while continuing to execute high-stakes missions across the ‘verse. The squad’s leaders are exploring new technologies and ship enhancements to maintain their edge in an ever-changing galaxy.

As the Hades Vanguard expands, Cerberus Squad serves as a shining example of the organization’s commitment to excellence and adaptability, ensuring that no threat—no matter how large or small—can stand against them.

Second Motto: “A place you will like, a place you will stay.”
