FILE OPENED
I propose this file to be kept secret until we need it disclosed to anyone. This group may seem at the first layer somewhat idle and not a major threat, but their ability to make their way onboard any ship and either hijack, or simply stow themselves away could easily make this file disappear. Just my advice.
In the year 2935, Space, as we well know, was still relatively unsafe, even more so than it is to this day. Pilots of skill were vital, particularly for cargo and it quickly became a common sight for a simple cargoship to be flanked with four to five separate ships operating in a security convoy. These ships were often provided by numerous security companies that had taken the new frontier as their new business plan. It was around this time that the name SPRS first started occuring. They were not, necessarily, the most well known of the security companies, but their history, or that which I have been able to uncover, is stellar and unique. From what I am able to gather, their complete origin lies somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean on Earth. They seem to have lived, or based themselves from a small Oil Rig that had dug all the resources from the area and was then abandoned by the mining corporation. After some digging, I found that this location was chosen as it was in between the USA and Europe, allowing quick transit to key location across the globe.
It’s first gathered documents, dug into from old Earth intelligence groups implied that its’ members were largely brought in from discharged members of the UKSF (SAS, SBS and SRR/SRS) the USSF (SEALs, Delta, Rangers) and other stellar groups from across the globe, including intelligence members and figures from forces including the Mossad. Interestingly, it seems that while Michael Hammond was still working as the head of MI5, his name was on numerous papers found within one of this communities police raided vessels (It should be noted that the police report very shortly after being compiled, was lost, and this is only said from the memory of one of the police officers who recorded it in a private Journal that was eventually published. It’s so far unproven). They were tasked, typically, as a PMSC, supplying security or military facilities and personnel to those willing to pay. Their performance here was stellar, and they typically liked to strike from vehicles, before disembarking, and cleaning up with their forces firsthand skill.
There was a long length of time that all files seemed to have died down, up until a while after space travel became accessable to those whom could afford it. It seemed that the SPRS, or as it was known then, Haven Security, were one of those groups. They pioneered the creation of a combat ship that was fast, defensive, and had the space for men to be deployed to boarding or extra-hull combat. Officially, they provided basic security and recovery to those groups in dire need. Unofficially and unproven, it seemed that some supply ships, never the ships Havensec were hired to defend- notably, were raided, with their entire passenger groups onboard killed, and key cargo or information was taken before the ship itself was left to be lost in space. Only a few of these lost ships seem to be accounted for, others may well still be travelling, empty. I have no proof or solid evidence to imply that this was the work of HavenSec, but it’s a pretty good chance that somebody had information that whatever was being carried was worth a lot, and sold this information to HavenSec- before HavenSec decided they could do with it. Of course this could be pirates, or the work of any of the security groups around at the time, but it almost seemed to fit their MO of efficiency.
HavenSec’s activities continued much like this for a long period of time. Providing security and safety to those who could afford it, providing facilities for corporations to train- or providing, unofficially, a sword for hire. They provided security for a number of large orbital stations or planetary based cities, and thus both had access to a large pool of recruits, credits and space for holding. HavenSec pioneered the idea of, rather than smuggling weapons into a city where it was illegal and thus risky to store firearms- they’d harbour a ship just outside of the areas jurisdiction, loaded with weaponry, so that if anybody needed access to anything illegal, or to store anything illegal, for a price, they could. These “Floating Armouries” were vital both in HavenSecs growth- and it’s downfall.
Suddenly, in 2933 HavenSec seemed to have been infiltrated from within, and large shows of gunfire and explosions were reported from all over the HavenSec protected space and floating armouries can be seen to explode even from planetside. Suddenly, HavenSecs contracting slowed significantly and nobody declared themselves proudly to be either a citizen, recruit or contractor from their company- and no survivors wished to tell their tale, bar a few. Accounts vary, but what seemed to happen was that Havensec had grown too large, and simply too profitable, that within the company there was signs of borderline fanatacism for the org. These members took matters into their own hands- and anyone they deemed not loyal to Havensecs cause, were summarily punished by these fanatics. Obviously an awful PR move, and one the company seems to want to quickly forget.
HavenSec fell off of the radar that year, following the incident, and a couple years later, in 2935, some of its Officers re-emerged, and Havensec, to a degree- returned. They largely named themselves after their efficiency, UKSF heritage and their preferred method of combat- or so I can assume-, and thus was born the Special Raiding Squadron. The group, in its origin, were simply lost soldiers whom were well trained, efficient, but had no ship or place to call home. They pioneered and perfected the method that including sneaking onto a ship while others were either boarding, or while it was unattended, hiding themselves onboard, and waiting until the ship had travelled outside of safe space to requisition the ship, cargo or crew. This is how their fleet, and their men were funded at their beginning. No loans, no payments, simply forced repossession. No footage seems to have survived from the ships, however there were, when I pushed some stations hard enough for their files, some video footage of a known officer of the group, boarding a cargo ship from its unattended cargobay, before an hour passed and the designated pilot and crew got on board. Normally, this wouldn’t be a large issue, however a very similar vessel arrived next week, with a fresh datasystem, manned only by the Officer and his comrades. No leads were pursued and no security threat seemed to have been perceived. Other footage found seems to show a group of pirates entering a raided station, only for members of the SPRS to quickly move from a position lodged under the landing pad behind them, and hijack their ship before they had known what had happened, eventually leading to the pirates arrest once they were forced to fire a distress signal.
Since then, the SPRS seem to have done some security and investigative work, and their name, once more, seems to be recognized by some. I have no information on their fleet strength, their combat efficiency, or any illegal corners they may have cut, but I do know that if their history is true, the crew of the SPRS could very well be a threat, if their deeds weren’t so damned ambiguous. I cannot tell if they are simply a group of pirates, smugglers, adrenaline junkies or an efficient and professional PMC- or even if, indeed, they’re all of the above.
I should also note that the SPRS is really only just a sector of Havensec- albeit the most visible one. Havensec seems to be larger than just the Raiding squadron, and the company seems to be gradually reviving itself.
Signing off, Alexander Stafford of the UEE Combat and Threat Intelligence Service

Captain Chapman, there’s an issue, one which I don’t like the look of.
I’ve found very little new on the SPRS- they’ve largely taken to bounty-hunting and escort runs recently, staying on the right side of the law-but I’ve found some significantly interesting things on the old Havensec.
The times under the Messer lineage were maybe our strongest years, but also out most questionable, and I’ve got a bad feeling that Havensec were often involved in some of the earlier atrocities directly, or were asked to advise on certain questionable matters- in a similar way that Aegis were sometimes outsourced some of the clearly illegal ship modification jobs- I believe Havensec was outsourced some of the illegal roles, ranging from terrorism, to kidnapping, to false-flag operations- and I think they were integral, in some way, to the Atrocity at Jata. Clearly, unless they had aliens in their ranks, they couldn’t have flown the ships necessary to have done the bombings- or indeed to have access to said ships- rather, I think they intentionally passed key information that was passed quietly from the UEE, to Havensec, across to the alien assault force, and then worked on weakening the defences around Jata, in the buildup to the assault.
I could be wrong- but I’ve a feeling that Havensec once operated under Aegis’ banner, particularly in some dark times, and some of the ‘issues’ of our past may, to some degree, have had their hand in the affairs. I guess we just have to hope that the new iteration doesn’t follow the same route.

AUDIO TAKEN FROM PUBLIC RELATIONS SPEECH
WHAT IS ‘HavenSec’?
HavenSec is a number of things, but to put it openly and simply for the public, we are a security firm that can be hired directly to protect the motives, directions and activities of private firms. We work alongside these companies and offer the most tactical and strategic policies our experienced professionals can construct, keeping everything in YOUR world, safe and oiled. We have run security on private stations, as well as cities in the past, and with a bright portfolio of success stories- Your safety is our priority!
WHAT ARE HavenSec’s SPECIALTIES?
HavenSec, due to our legacy in the security business, specialises in all forms of private security contracting and indeed military contracting, and can be hired to provide a maximum spectrum private military/security solution, ranging from escorts, to investigative measures, to both overt and covert security on your ship or station. Our specialist security and risk management solutions to counter extreme threats, along with exfiltration, K&R, threat neutrality operations and quick react taskforce defenses, along with our ability to gather intelligence and act upon it puts us in a league of our own when it comes to the Private Security circuit.
WHAT MOTIVATES THE COMPANY?
We, as a company, are a company filled with experienced and trained professionals, with recruits bristling with the aptitude to perform to our high standards. Our life is this, and if through following our calling we can protect lives and enhance industry safety, while being paid so we can invest in greater methods of security and efficiency? It’s a neverending cycle of success.
HOW DO YOU OPERATE?
I’m sorry. We can’t publicly speak on our operations, or on our protocol for completing them as that could put our employees at risk, however, what we can say is that only the best professionals in their sector can lead each job. If it’s a job including transport, one of our experienced pilots will act as the main adviser to the Officer that oversees the operation, making sure that the Officer has all the information and skills he needs to properly plan the job- and letting everyone in the group have their say on the final plan. This way, every contingency has been accounted for by the crews many minds and the CO (Commanding Officer) will have at his disposal the finest minds to advise him should anything deviate from the plan. Our rank-plan is very open, in that typically the person most suited to the job will essentially end up in charge of the operation- but, of course, rank structure is still a crucial necessity in many cases.
WHAT ABOUT HAVENSEC?
HavenSec is, at this point, the parent company. Our systems originate there, our training originates there, even a lot of our people originate there. HavenSec is reborn, and the SPRS is it’s core- it’s people. HavenSec and through proxy, the SPRS, exist to provide a maximum spectrum private military/security solution, for any and all problems.
WHY SHOULD RECRUITS COME TO YOU OVER OTHER EMPLOYERS?
We operate, constantly, in a professional environment and only seek to employ the elite- or those with the aptitude to become elite. What sets us about from the rest, however, is our direct ties with some very large, very influential trading groups, that we will be working alongside. Our employees get paid when we get paid, that’s the only fair method. What’s important, is that should a member of our community rise to leading a ships crew, they could well be therein taken under whatever trading corporation we work for at that time- being paid by them directly. Our corporate influence, training facilities and staff all make us a unique option for those wishing to join up.
NOTABLE CURRENT EMPLOYERS?
Other than offering a large number of personalised security details to small home-mining groups on planetary installations and moons, our major contract is with a well respected and growing mining and transport company. We try not to disclose the information of our contractors, for privacy and professionalism reasons, but rest assured, chances are, the metal you likely deal in, was once under our protection.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT?
With the resources available to us and the minds that are already working overtime within our organisation, how could we not? We consistently develop new tactics and protocol, and when and where we can, new equipment and advances in martial technology, or indeed scientific or engineering. Our R+D Team is largely separate from the core of the SPRS, under its’ own name and umbrella, but we are so closely linked, it’s as if it’s simply another department. In fact, the 180gram general Ship Boarding and Entry Explosive Charge (SPEEC, pronounced as in speak), was developed under our wing and has since seen use in many different theaters and purposes, praised for it’s effective frame, great adhesives, and an explosive charge that works in almost every case, we’ve got a quality of products that we simply will not let slip. We’ve got close ties to a number of universities and research stations, with many bright minds working on our, and indeed your, future. We’re open to anyone who can contribute, of course.
WE’VE HEARD YOU HAVE HAD PRIOR INTEREST IN BOTH RE-ENACTING PRIVATEERING LAWS AND, INDEED, IN GETTING INVOLVED IN LAW YOURSELVES
Yes, to both of these questions. We’ve been heavily interested in law and legality for a long time- and would like to stake our frank ability and experience in the court of law. Privateering, too, is a case that we believe we would excel at.

PURPOSE : TO SUPPLY A MAXIMUM SPECTRUM SECURITY SOLUTION
PUBLIC RELATIONS QUOTE : HavenSec was set about in the pursual of protecting a nondescript contingent through strategic and tactical combat decisions. Our job is to protect those who pay, and to ensure that everyone involved is maximising their profit. We don’t undersell, and we don’t risk efficiency.

GUIDELINES OF COMBATIVE SERVICE, TIER4, ENTRY LEVEL PERSONNEL
*STANDARDS : The highest standards of behaviour are expected of all personnel at all active times. If any combatant is found to not be combat effective or efficient at any working time, they can expect to be disciplined. (In that, if you’re put on a job, we do expect you to give it your all and to be present throughout – within reason -, not turning up, disappearing half way through randomly, or simply not performing to the best of your abilities will likely lead to you not being paid fully for that mission, for fair reason, I should say)
*CHAIN OF COMMAND : Even with our unique method of determining strategy, a chain of command must be followed. Listen to and obey those above you
*ALCOHOL OR DRUG MISUSE : Alcoholics, heavy drinkers and those with drug/drink-related problems are an operational liability, and shouldn’t seek to apply until they are ‘clean’.
*MEDIA CONTACT : There are restrictions on combat, security and management personnel dealing with the media, and on disclosure of information. It is a disciplinary offence for serving personnel to approach the press, radio, television or publishers to disclose official information.
*COMBAT READY : All serving and flagged up combat forces must be combat ready, or have access to the ability to be combat ready, at all times.
*PUBLIC RELATIONS : Typically dealt with through set mission protocol, but as norm, in the instance a civilian is caught up in an operation, see them to safety. If a noncombatant poses significant risk, and/or seems to be working with the enemy, treat it as hostile and refer to the operations ROE. After all, spotters for hostiles should be treated as hostiles, too. In security roles, always keep high relations with the locals. Public relations with locals have won and lost wars.
*TIER RELATED INFORMATION : All information regarding operations and duties must remain confidential until the Directorate decides that it is OK to be released.
*ROE : As designated in mission debriefs.
ROE : Rules Of Engagement; directives issued by competent military authority that delineate the circumstances and limitations under which SPRS forces will initiate and/or continue combat engagement with civilian or other forces.
CHAIN OF COMMAND pertains to the rank structure HavenSec uses. Operating largely on a tier system, it should explain itself.
DRUG MISUSE pertains to the idea that any combative consumes alcohol or drugs on a job, before a job, or when operating or around machinery, weapon systems, or land and spacecraft.
