Welcome to the official Spectrum channel Hermóðr Deep Space Logistics. We are currently recruiting adventurous and like minded individuals, if you happen to be interested in either a position as a logistics co-ordinator or pilot (escort or cargo) we encourage you to apply.
History
Hermóðr Deep Space Logistics traces its cultural roots back to the maritime trading tradition of Scandinavian from Terra of old and traces its corporate history back to some of the larger terrestrial shipping and logistics company in days past. While it shares a rich past with many old Terra corporations, HDL prides itself in looking forward and embracing the new reality of interstellar commerce.
The exact origins of HDL are rather a mystery as many records regarding it’s founding have been lost or sealed, however corporate archivists and third party historians can corroborate that HDL is likely a result of the merger of several old Earth Shipping companies and resource exploration companies, which decided to unite in the face of the new reality of space travel. While it has it’s roots on Terra, HDL has largely moved away from the confines of the Sol system and looks outward towards unknown space.
Manifesto
Mission Statement:
Hermóðr Deep Space Logistics is committed to providing safe and economical logistics services to a variety of clients in order to extend humanity’s reach in the the never ending depths of space.
Charter
Employee and Affiliate Code of Conduct:
I) As Hermóðr Deep Space Logistics (thereafter referred to as HDL) respects the sovereign rule of law, HDL expects all employees and affiliates to respect the laws and customs of all nations in civilised space and to refrain from using force unless such force is deemed absolutely necessary (see addendum on use of force for more information). HDL agrees to comply with all laws and regulation in space it does not control and will cooperate fully with security forces and investigations. Should an employee be found to be acting in a manner that is against the law HDL will turn said employee over to the legitimate authorities, with the use of force if necessary.
II) Employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is becoming of themselves and which does not reflect poorly upon HDL. Employees found to be behaving in a manner considered not to be in the best interest of HDL or in a manner that reflects poorly on HDL, it’s executive team, employees and affiliates will be disciplined, with the highest penalty being termination.
III) HDL reserves the right to keep and maintain a fleet of armed vessels and a security force of armed individuals for purposes of security, investigations and self defence.
On the Use of Force:
HDL reserves the right to defend the well being of all employees and the security of corporate assets, as such HDL will use all resources at its disposal to maintain security and wellbeing (see section III above) however HDL, with respect to the rule of law, agrees to reserve the use of deadly force to situations where life, limb or asset are threatened (i.e. piracy, raiding, war, privateering etc.) as such all employees are expected to use extreme discretion when using force, but are also expected to maintain a level of combat skill conducive to self defence. Employees found to be lacking in appropriate basic combat skills will be terminated.
