Three decades ago, a group pulled off one of the greatest heists in UEE history.
Most of them got away with it — until last year when a suspected mobster was arrested for the notorious ship heist inspiring hundreds of criminals across the galaxy.

Here is the strange story of what happened more than 30 years ago.

In 2901, a dozen armed robbers in ski masks raided the [REDACTED] at International Space Port and made off with ¤100 million in credit vouchers and almost ¤5 million in cargo; approximately ¤350 million by today’s rates.

At the time, it was the largest theft that had ever been carried out this side of the UDS-2943-01-22 System

The UEE Navy has been trying to crack the case ever since, but many of those connected to the heist ended up dead, potentially due to their newly found enormous wealth. Investigators believe Jake Snake Iris and Billy ElbyK Iris, both associates of the “IRIS Cirlce” dating back to the 21st century, were the masterminds behind the plot and key in the execution of the heist. Sources believe they both died in prison in 2905, some believe they escaped to [REDACTED] to spend the money that they had stolen under false UEE citizen numbers.

[REDACTED] (Code-name: Big_C), a known friend of the IRIS Circle who reportedly participated in the crime, started cooperating with police in the mid-2910s and eventually entered the witness protection program under an assumed identity and new citizen number .

But authorities have only been able to secure one conviction in the case. [REDACTED] (Code-name: Skorge) was the inside man, a cargo agent who was familiar with the IRIS vault and reportedly tipped off an associate who fed information to the robbers. In 2899, he was found guilty of helping to plan and carry out the heist, serving the majority of his sentence in orbit around Terra.

Another break in the investigation finally came in 2923 when police disabled the 890 Jump Yacht of one Allan Groovy Reid, a member of El Cartel de la Morsa, also known business partners of IRIS, and charged him. (He was arrested with several other suspected members of El Cartel de la Morsa aboard the yacht who were accused of several other significant breaches of UEE law.)

In 2928, the UEE investigators who were working the case told The Wingman Times that it was “the case that just won’t lay down.” Here’s how it unfolded.

Months before the robbery, Skorge (the cargo agent) tipped off his bookie [REDACTED] (Code name:Snazz) to the piles of untraceable credit vouchers sitting in the Aegis Dynamics vault. The vouchers were flown in once a month and sometimes stored overnight in the vault before being picked up the next day to be deposited in more local outlets.

Snazz then told Skorge, who reportedly passed along the tip to Snake and ElbyK (the two alleged masterminds of the crime).

Early in the morning on Dec. 11, a group of gunmen arrived at the cargo hold’s loading platform in a heavily modified Freelancer. A security guard who went to investigate was smacked in the head with a gun and forced to deactivate a silent alarm on the property.

Skorge had given a sketch of the building’s layout and alarm system to the gunmen, so they were all to familiar with the building’s confusing corridors and devious security measures.

The armed men burst into the cargo building, rounded up the employees working there, disabled them using Mk-44 Tasers, and held them hostage inside a cramped vault.

The robbers first captured a senior cargo agent, who was forced to call the night shift cargo traffic manager, [REDACTED] (Code-name: Thorne), and tell him to come upstairs. Two gunmen were waiting for him. They instructed him to open the vault so they could steal the millions worth of vouchers and cargo inside.

The entire heist took little more time than an hour.

Eventually, an employee came to and called police to alert them of the break-in.

Six people with minor connections to heist have ended up dead, according to the Wingman Times, others were placed in the witness protection program in exchange for their cooperation. But recently it has been rumored that Big_C has ran out on the witness protection program and escaped to [REDACTED] to search for Snake and ElbyK and get the old gang back together with a few new experts to renew the glory of IRIS with the new iteration: IRIS-9.
