Company Profile/History: Stormwind Industrial and Security

Formed during the Messer Regime in 2723 by Annalease Nezine, a cousin of the Messer family, Nezine Industrial quickly became a major supplier of resources to Aegis Dynamics. The company stood on its own, holding competitors at bay due to its association with the Messer name. Few dared challenge them directly or even indirectly. The company continued to pass through the family line, usually to an inheriting daughter, as the Nezine family was matriarchal. After the fall of the Messer regime, NI lost the protection of one of the most powerful families in the ‘verse, becoming increasingly vulnerable and starting to lose shipments and, subsequently, contracts.

This turn of fortune necessitated their first major shift in business model. Aligning with Temcho Security in a partnership to protect their assets, they reoriented their business toward logistics and security. Sharing the renewed profits, the company continued being passed down the family line until the present era, where it rests in the hands of Victoria Nezine and her younger sister, Riley.

Riley Nezine joined the war against the Vanduul in 2935 at the age of 18, where she met Vance “Doc” Belrayne and a man she simply refers to as “Dark,” both of whom served with her in the UEE. During her deployment to the front lines in 2940, her sister and brother were killed in a raid while visiting an outer-ring subsidiary. This loss necessitated Riley’s return home, where she assumed control of Nezine Logistics and Security.

About two years later, Doc formed Stormwind Industrial with a close friend, an engineer named Jordan “Fist” Harral. Leasing a decommissioned RSI Orion-class mining vessel, Doc began building capital through small mining and industrial ventures while renovating the Orion.

However, the company’s association with the Messer name, still evoking negative sentiment, led to increasingly competitive contracts. The Nezine business began to suffer, and Riley, whose education was geared more towards combat and combat medicine, struggled to manage the business in the way her sister had. Many of her plans were disrupted by political intrigue or corporate espionage. In response, she reached out to her contacts in the service, learning that Doc had been steadily building his business. She offered to lend the clout of her own organization in exchange for rebranding under his corporate license, while retaining enough shares to remain the primary shareholder, but in a true partnership where each voice is valued.

They recruited their friend Dark, along with his small mercenary operation, to head the security division of their growing corporation. With the merger’s completion, Stormwind Industrial and Security Specialists attained Megacorp status, giving them enough capital and influence to become true contenders among the large organizations in the ‘verse. Facing continued industrial espionage, piracy, and other threats, they began forming ties with some of the more unsavory communities, though their overall operations remain largely above board. The Megacorp, now branded as Stormwind Industrial and Security Specialists, does its best to stay within legal boundaries—at least as much as the other corporations allow them to.
