History

The Nexus Cargo Syndicate was forged in the chaos that followed the fall of UEE control over the Nexus system. Once a thriving hub for trade and exploration, Nexus became a haven for pirates, outlaws, and those seeking to escape the tightening grip of the UEE. Amid this disorder, a group of opportunistic smugglers, former miners, and disgruntled haulers came together to form a network of covert operations, united by the singular goal of survival.

In its early days, the Syndicate was nothing more than a loose confederation of small-time smugglers, each working independently but all using the same dark trade routes that snaked through the Nexus system. As lawlessness spread and UEE enforcement weakened, the Syndicate began to establish itself as the region’s primary covert smuggling group. The founders, a disparate group of outcasts and former military personnel, pooled their knowledge and resources, quickly expanding their influence across Nexus and into the surrounding system of Pyro.

Over time, The Nexus Cargo Syndicate became known for one thing above all else: the ability to move anything, anywhere. Whether it was contraband, rare artifacts, or even desperate refugees fleeing the law, the Syndicate’s fleet of seasoned pilots and transport specialists would deliver. They earned a reputation for discretion, reliability, and an unyielding commitment to their code—no questions asked, no cargo left behind. This sense of secrecy and efficiency attracted more members to the cause, swelling their ranks and allowing them to dominate the underground trade in the region.

Today, The Nexus Cargo Syndicate stands as a symbol of the freedom and danger that comes with operating in the darkest corners of space. To some, they are criminals, a shadowy syndicate profiting off the misery of others. To those they help, however, they are a lifeline—delivering what governments cannot or will not. The Syndicate’s network continues to expand, its operations covering a web of hidden outposts and trade routes that span the farthest reaches of the ‘verse, ensuring they remain a critical player in the high-stakes world of smuggling and illicit trade

Manifesto

We are the unseen. The ones who move in the shadows, unnoticed and unchallenged. We are the Nexus Cargo Syndicate, a collective of lawless individuals bound together by a singular purpose: to deliver freedom, choice, and opportunity to those who are denied by the weight of power. In a galaxy where corporations and governments dictate who gets what, when, and how, we stand as a quiet rebellion against control and monopoly.

Our intentions are clear: we exist to facilitate the exchange of goods, services, and people—without the interference of large powers that seek to hoard, restrict, or exploit. We do not consider ourselves criminals, but rather liberators—empowering individuals to take what they deserve, without asking for permission. Whether it is the delivery of life-saving resources to those stranded in remote systems or helping a fugitive escape the iron grip of the UEE, we stand for the principles of autonomy, freedom, and discretion.

We hold no allegiance to any government or corporation. Our loyalty lies with our creed: “Everything has a price, and everyone has a right to be free.” We recognize that the ‘verse is vast and complex, and in many cases, survival means bending the rules—so we do. But we do not do so out of malice. We do not seek to harm, control, or dominate. We simply provide a service that the powers that be refuse to acknowledge. We offer solutions for those that need them, no matter how dangerous, no matter how illegal they may seem.

The Nexus Cargo Syndicate is not a cartel. We are a network—a loose collective of like-minded individuals who value the independence and liberty of others. We operate outside the law, yes—but our goal is never to break people or exploit them. Our motives are simple: to ensure that trade, movement, and choices remain in the hands of the people. We exist because someone must. Because someone has to move the things that no one else will. To deliver what the powerful will not, to give to those who have nothing left to lose, and to stand as the bastion for those who have been cast aside by the system.

In this galaxy, where chaos reigns and power corrupts, the Nexus Cargo Syndicate will remain an unyielding force for independence, discretion, and choice. We do not seek fame. We do not seek recognition. We do not even seek approval. We only seek to offer a service to those in need and to protect our own in the process. Those who stand against us will find themselves in the dark, lost to the void of the ‘verse. But those who seek our help will find it, for we are the ones who will deliver the impossible.

We are the Nexus Cargo Syndicate. And we deliver freedom.

Charter

As a collective bound by our shared creed, the Nexus Cargo Syndicate operates on a simple set of rules, designed to maintain order, loyalty, and discretion within our ranks. While we are lawless in the eyes of the UEE and those who seek to control the ‘verse, we are not without structure. These rules govern how we act, both toward one another and the galaxy at large.

Honor the Deal, Always
Once an agreement is made, it is binding. We do not back out, betray, or renege on promises. A contract—be it for cargo, personnel, or services—must be delivered as agreed, with no exceptions. Reputation is everything in our world, and breaking a deal is a fast track to becoming an enemy of the Syndicate.

No Unnecessary Violence
We are not a band of marauders seeking to conquer or destroy. Violence is a last resort, used only when survival or the protection of Syndicate members is at stake. We do not attack civilians, unarmed targets, or innocents unless absolutely necessary. Our goal is to make a profit and keep things moving—our business thrives on discretion, not bloodshed.

Keep a Low Profile
We operate in the shadows. We do not draw attention to ourselves unnecessarily, and we avoid causing chaos that may expose the Syndicate to the authorities or rival factions. When working in public spaces, keep a low profile and act professionally. Avoid unnecessary disruptions or flashy displays of power. Let others know you for your reputation, not your presence.

Respect Syndicate Members
Loyalty to the Syndicate is paramount. We are a network, and every member is a piece of the whole. While we come from different backgrounds and skills, we stand united under the same banner. Betrayal or disloyalty to a fellow member will not be tolerated and is punishable by exile or worse. Any grievances should be settled internally—disputes among members should not spill out into the galaxy.

Protect the Hidden Routes
The Syndicate’s success is built on its ability to operate in secrecy, especially in the most lawless parts of the ‘verse. Never disclose, even to fellow members, the details of our most sensitive trade routes, hideouts, or contacts unless absolutely necessary. Let none but the highest-ranking members know the true scope of the Syndicate’s network.

Do Not Engage in Corporate Wars
The Syndicate does not pick sides in corporate conflicts. We are neutral entities in the ongoing battles between megacorporations, unless such a conflict presents an opportunity for the Syndicate. We deal with clients of all kinds, and our neutrality ensures that we can continue to operate freely without the interference of corporate power.

Trade Responsibly, Even in the Grey
The Syndicate deals in all forms of goods—legal and illegal—but we do not tolerate recklessness or carelessness. Know what you’re transporting, who you’re dealing with, and the risks involved. Transporting dangerous or volatile cargo is part of the job, but it is always handled with the utmost care. Loose lips or reckless behavior jeopardize the Syndicate and its reputation.

Don’t Bite the Hand that Feeds You
Clients are to be treated with respect, and as a rule, we avoid turning against our benefactors unless they become a liability. The Syndicate may choose to cut ties with problematic clients, but we do so swiftly and professionally. Betrayal for personal gain is not acceptable—take what’s offered, complete your job, and leave the business behind.

Maintain Secrecy Above All
The most critical aspect of our operations is the ability to keep secrets. Whether it’s a shipment’s contents, the identities of those involved, or where we conduct business, silence is golden. Loose lips not only put you at risk—they endanger the Syndicate as a whole.

No Personal Vendettas
Disputes with outsiders should be handled professionally and in accordance with Syndicate standards. Personal vendettas and petty grievances should never influence how you conduct business. We do not engage in feuds that could harm the Syndicate’s interests or expose us to unnecessary risks.
