History of the Oretani system

Oretani was one of many systems discovered during the rapid expansion era of the 25th century. The surveyors noticed nothing in the system’s six worlds of immediate importance. Just a single planet seemed to be a viable candidate for terraforming. The terraforming corp that won the bid sent a mid-level team (and their families) into the system to start processing when the only jump point into the system collapsed. Scientists scrambled to figure out a solution, but it was the first time an incident like this had occurred. As years stretched into decades, people studied the area around the former jump point, hoping for a sign that it had reopened, but after time they gave up.

The end was a new beginning

On April 11, 2485 the jump point connecting Oretani to Ferron suddenly collapsed, cutting off all connection from Oretani to the rest of civilization. At the time four Oretani scientists where left without a way to get back to their families. These four scentists, commonly known as The Oretani 4, swore to dedicate their lives to get back to the Oretani system.

In the last +450 years the descendents of The Oretani 4 have continued in the path set out so many centuries ago. In November, 2942 an idea was formed to create a company for this purpose and after accumulating the finances on December 8, 2950 the company Oretani Discovery Initiative was officially founded.

Our Divisions today

Science & Research Division

The Science & Research Division will develop cutting edge technology for the verse for a reasonable cost. By acquiring the most prolific technology available through our Trading Division we will optimize and re-invent the term top of the line. The Science & Research Division will also develop biotechnology for private use as well as providing some of the largest organizations in the verse with the latest in biotech and xenotech.

Exploration Division

The Exploration Division will explore the verse and will spearhead any new research opportunities for the Science & Research Division. These two division will collaborate under the venture Research & Data.

Trading Division

The Trading Division not only secures a huge profit by trading but also engages in the communities they visit to form new relationships and alliances. Good relationships with Banu and all friendly species ensure a lucrative future in this expanding area.

Resource Division

The Resource Division travels to the far reaches of the verse for the most sought-after minerals & gems for mining and derelict ships for salvaging.

Current partnerships

We currently have partnerships with Blackguard and Swedish Umbrella. They have been providing our members with elite-level protection and ensuring safe travels for several years now.

  3. In the future we might ask for contributions in form of UEC to acquire ships or equipment to further our endeavors.
