History

Osada was born from the crucible of a tragic destiny. Its founder, Victor, carried the weight of a tainted legacy. His journey began on the somber planet of Yar, where he witnessed firsthand the lingering resentment against his family and the systemic corruption that plagued the UEE.

A chance discovery—the personal diary of a controversial figure from the past—revealed a truth far more complex than the simplistic villainous portrayal of history. Victor saw not a monster, but a flawed idealist whose dreams of a unified and powerful humanity were ultimately corrupted and distorted. This revelation instilled in him a desire to restore a more nuanced understanding of his ancestor’s legacy, but also instilled a dangerous belief that he was destined to correct the errors of the past, even at a great cost.

Haunted by the past and disillusioned with the present, Victor established Osada. The organization was founded on the principles of secrecy, loyalty, and a shared desire to challenge the status quo. It began as a small band of like-minded individuals who sought to operate outside the UEE’s corrupt system, driven by the need to rectify the errors of the past and forge a better future, though Victor’s methods became increasingly ruthless and morally questionable.

The name “Osada,” meaning “settlement” or “refuge,” was chosen to reflect the organization’s purpose: to provide a sanctuary for those who sought change and a foundation from which to build a new future, though this sanctuary often operated in the shadows, embracing tactics that the UEE would deem criminal. The symbol of Osada, twin dragons intertwined in a Yin Yang formation, represents the balance and duality that the organization seeks to restore to a fractured humanity. It is a design salvaged from Victor’s military past, a relic of a time when he believed in the system he now fights to change, a constant reminder of the tragedy that shaped his path.

Manifesto

Osada stands at the crossroads of history, bearing witness to the decay of an empire built on the flawed foundations of the past. We, the members of Osada, declare the following:

The UEE is Weakened and Corrupt: The United Empire of Earth, bloated and sprawling, has strayed far from the ideals of its founder. It is riddled with corruption, plagued by inefficiency, and unwilling to uphold its promises. Its focus has strayed from its core mission: to protect and serve humanity.

Humanity is Fragmented: Humanity is divided against itself, fractured along lines of prejudice, greed, and political maneuvering. This internal strife leaves us vulnerable to external threats and prevents us from reaching our full potential.

A New Path Must Be Forged: We believe that a new path must be forged, one that embraces the positive aspects of our history while rejecting the corruption and tyranny that have plagued us. This path demands that we confront the UEE’s failings, challenge the prevailing narratives, and work to build a more just and equitable future.

Osada’s Purpose: Osada is committed to:

Seeking the Truth: We will uncover the hidden truths of the past, challenging the official narratives and exposing the lies that have been used to control and manipulate humanity.

Combating Corruption: We will fight against the corruption that permeates the UEE, working to dismantle the systems of power that perpetuate injustice and inequality, even if it requires extreme measures.

Uniting Humanity: We will strive to unite humanity, fostering cooperation and understanding among all people, regardless of their origin or beliefs, though we recognize that this unity may require a strong hand.

Honorable Action: While forced to operate in the shadows, we will adhere to a code of honor, minimizing harm and targeting only those who truly deserve it, but we acknowledge that the definition of “deserve” may be subjective and morally complex.

Promoting Trade and Diplomacy: We believe in fostering peaceful relationships with other species, such as the Banu and the Xi’an, and prioritizing diplomacy and trade over conflict, but we will not hesitate to use force if necessary to protect our interests.

Defending Against External Threats: We recognize the existential threat posed by the Vanduul and believe that the UEE’s resources should be primarily focused on combating this threat, but we also understand that internal threats can be just as dangerous.

Charter

The following charter outlines the principles and guidelines that govern the organization of Osada and the conduct of its members:

Membership: Membership in Osada is by invitation only, granted to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s goals and a willingness to abide by its principles.

Loyalty: Loyalty to Osada and its members is paramount. Members are expected to uphold the organization’s values and to act in its best interests at all times.

Secrecy: The operations and activities of Osada are to be kept strictly confidential. Members are forbidden from disclosing any sensitive information to unauthorized individuals or entities.

Integrity: Members are expected to conduct themselves with integrity and honor in all their dealings. Dishonesty, deceit, and unethical behavior will not be tolerated, except when deemed necessary for the greater good of the organization.

Respect: Members are expected to treat each other with respect and courtesy, regardless of their rank or position within the organization.

Discipline: Members are expected to adhere to the chain of command and to follow the instructions of their superiors. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate the organization’s rules or engage in insubordinate behavior.

Accountability: Members are held accountable for their actions. Those who violate the charter or engage in misconduct will be subject to appropriate consequences, up to and including expulsion from the organization.

Purpose: Osada’s primary focus is not self-gain. While individual members may profit from legal endeavors, the organization’s resources are dedicated to achieving its goals:

To expose the truth about the past.

To combat present-day corruption.

To pave the way for a better future.

Adaptability: Osada must remain flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing universe. The organization’s strategies and tactics may evolve as needed to achieve its objectives.

Unity: Osada’s strength lies in the unity of its members. We are bound together by a shared vision and a common purpose, and we will stand together against any threat to our organization or our cause.

Code of Conduct:

  • Be fair and professional. All organization members are expected to be respectful and polite when dealing with other members of the community. Griefing, interfering with other players, and generally being disruptive are prohibited.
  • Treat officers and other organization members with respect and politeness.
  • Humor is welcome! If someone is offended by a joke, apologize and move on; if you are offended, state that and then move on. There is no need to delve into the matter excessively.
  • Children are not allowed. Any stray children will be sold to a Banu slaver.
  • Be kind to new players.
  • All players are expected to be punctual for organization events, arriving at least ten minutes before the scheduled start time. This means being online and having completed any necessary preparatory content beforehand.
  • Failure to complete prerequisites or arriving more than ten minutes late may result in exclusion from the event, at the discretion of the organizers and/or officers. Consistently being late or unprepared for events is considered a violation of organization rules.
  • Only members are allowed to attend organization events.
  • Members are expected to be online at least once every two months for a brief period. If extended absences are necessary, officers should be notified in advance. Inactive members may be removed from the organization.
