Quantas Starlines is a passenger transportation, touring and cruising corporation based in Stanton. We run tours and cruises on a commercial scale. They include lore, sightseeing, activities and, of course, food and drinks with bartenders and servers to make your life onboard our vessels easier. We transport passengers all over the Stanton system with our taxi services and we organize events and activities for larger groups. Interested in booking a tour, cruise or flight yourself? Quantas Starlines was founded in 2952 by GravityDeficient, JustBuildandPlay, and LeEngineer. GravityDeficient had a background in small-scale private tours and event organizing within the Stanton system. JustBuildandPlay and LeEngineer had experience running medium-sized tours to recruit members for a larger industrial organization, which ultimately went bankrupt due to internal and external issues. The three co-founders met by chance a few months before the organization’s collapse at a reveal event for the new Origin 400i in New Austin, Terra. They decided to stay in touch and eventually formed a new starlines organization in Stanton.
Stanton was chosen because of its dense population and the need for transport services. The co-founders focused on touring, cruising, and events since the corporate giant, Meridian Transit, already had regular flights throughout the system. When they started, the organization had no name, logo, or infrastructure. After a few months of thinking about branding and searching for good deals on ships and infrastructure, JustBuildandPlay met Iggy Whitlock in the Tohil system whilst Iggy was reflying the Tohil Regatta race, something he really enjoyed watching in his younger years. After quite a long conversation, JustBuildandPlay discovered that Iggy Whitlock owned the remains of an airline called Qantas Airways that was originally founded in 1920, more than a thousand years ago.
Qantas Airways was thriving until the end of the Messer era. Qantas did not show much, if any, hostility towards the Messers and even transported some of the Messer family members during the Messer era. This had a huge impact on their reputation towards the end of the Messer era. Quite a few years before the Messers fell, Qantas already saw a decline in the amount of passengers and clients. This got worse when the Ferron system, a system where Qantas made a lot of profit, started seeing a decline in population when the eleventh Messer accused the system of being home of dissidents. People, especially Messer loyalists, got scared and quickly left the system, together with a lot of their companies and fortune. Shortly after that, the Messers fell and the population declined even further.
Qantas quickly started expanding more aggressively in other systems, in the hope that they could keep making a profit. This was, unfortunately for Qantas, very hard, because of the newer up and coming starlines in other systems, that didn’t have a bad reputation. Qantas failed to become independent from their income in Ferron, and when Shubin Interstellar announced that they were losing money, and started scaling back operations in the Ferron system in 2832, which led to more people leaving the system, Qantas filed for bankruptcy. Iggy Whitlock’s father found out that all Qantas’ assets were being sold for an extremely low price and went for it. He was unfortunately unable to get anything running again, since the amount of competitors was absolutely insane in that era. Iggy inherited the assets from his dad, but never did anything with it after seeing his dad stress out during his youth, while trying to get it running again.
The co-founders purchased Qantas Airways’ assets from Iggy and decided to keep most of the useful infrastructure in densely populated systems. They sold the less useful infrastructure and some ships to scrap companies or enthusiasts, earning some money to establish a small HQ in New Babbage and acquire a few modern ships. They slightly renovated and preserved some of the infrastructure, such as terminals and hangars, for future use. The co-founders decided on the name Quantas Starlines as a modern reiteration of Qantas Airways and created a new branding with a logo that represented fast, soothing, stressless, and luxurious travel. The first test-tour for Quantas Starlines happened on the 8th of July 2952.
Quantas Starlines’ current goal is to provide unique in-game experiences to see the ‘verse in a different light. Currently, those experiences are focused on in-game tours and events. We run public tours, about 1 per weekend, and will soon have support for tours that can be booked privately. We host events from time to time, like a murder mystery on an 890J. Citizens will also be able to privately book these (soon™).
The tours are commercially sized, with the aim of having 6-30 passengers on each flight. All our events have dedicated crew, such as a bartender/bartenders on the tours, and we have different types of tours, such as lore tours that will provide the passengers with a general image of a specific planet, its biomes, its moons, and its lore.
Relieving stress
Quantas Starlines was founded with the intention to provide stress-relieving experiences to the always-busy civilians and citizens of the UEE. This was also the reason why Quantas was founded in the corporate and always busy Stanton system.
Spreading knowledge
There is a large number of civilians and citizens who barely know the history of the ‘verse and why certain things are the way they are. We share knowledge about the history and background of the ‘verse to help civilians and citizens understand their environment.
Sharing discoveries
Our advancements in technology and space travel have made it possible to gaze upon the most beautiful sights any human has ever seen. We strive to share these sights.
Embracing the bizarre
The ‘verse is filled with weird, but amazing, stuff. From wreckages to shrines to gathering locations, we love to show them all and share their story.
Inspiring people
No other company in the Stanton system is attempting what we are doing. We show that it is possible and give people the inspiration to start their own projects. We don’t wait, we create.
Doing the right thing right
Quantas Starlines aims to create quality entertainment/experiences and supports communities, companies and relations by organising experiences and teambuilding events. By doing this, people get more connected with co-workers, stay connected with friends or even meet new friends in this vast ‘verse.
Quantas Starlines wants to expand on both the experiences and the passenger transport (commercial flights). We currently have two types of tours and some events, but we don’t run any cruises, transport requests, or commercial flights yet. Our cruises will focus on providing an immersive roleplay experience in-game, and our transport requests and commercial flights will focus on getting you where you need to be quickly and comfortably. We will start by focusing on high-class and business-class passengers and might expand into the more economic market in the more distant future. We will always keep our values in mind.
Quantas Starlines currently runs public and private tours, mostly lore tours. These lore tours are focused on giving the passengers a general image of a specific planet, its biomes, its moons, and its lore. These tours have dedicated crews, such as a tour guide, a bartender, onboard security, escorts, and a pilot.
