History

Established in 2954, a group of once freelance workers realized that with the coming changes to their home system, the authoritarian rule of the Stanton solar system was becoming too strict for the human way of life.

Through many iterations and planning, a new syndicate was formed to assist those around the verse.

Plans formed in early 2954 to arrange a new fleet focused solely on the needs of the Syndicate.

2951- Blue collar workers operating as salvage contractors formed a union as their needs were not being met. They were quickly dissolved as mega corporations offered higher pay with considerably worse working conditions. The higher pay worked as bait for new workers to dissuade the unions forming around Stanton.

2952- The founders of the once formed union began freelance work as a means of survival. Armed with nothing more than a few barely functioning salvage ships and haulers, a money pool was formed to arrange for a better means of survival. The last of the the ships were scrapped out and sold for parts, which allowed a few much nicer ships than before. The handful of workers began to hold out hope for a better means of living.

2953- The now small group of freelancers began to realize that blue collar work doesn’t pay in space the way it did planet side. The few work ships that they have were sold out, and traded in with some petty cash for something worth it’s weight. A small fleet began to form as the group began taking in new kinds of work, ranging from paid mercenary work to cargo delivery.

2954- A syndicate was formed, and plans for a new fleet once again formed. This time, they would have to have something truly awe inspiring. A Robert Space Industries Polaris was commissioned to act as a mobile base for operations. The skills acquired by these few remaining workers served them well. Now armed with engineers, gunners, infantry, pilots, and a few captains of the incredulous vessels formed the start of a new syndication with no plans on slowing down

Manifesto

S.G.S. does not sit on either side of the law,. Contracts may be taken or offered by high ranking government officials who don’t want their dirty work on record, in fear of discovery by a PMC or I.A. investigation. On the other hand, we may take contracts from the head honcho of the Overlords gang in the Pyro solar system, looking to target a specific group.

Search and Rescue operations have been performed by those with a deep enough pocket or close enough ties to the founders of S.G.S., and medical/combat assistance performed on the regular.

The point is, if you need help, or just want some…..pest control, S.G.S. is there to do it for you.

With a growing number of specialty operators, all sorts of careers are available for those looking for a new family.

This is the Shadow Garden Syndicate

Charter

The S.G.S. Charter is comprised of a handful of rules.

I. Be good at what you do. If you don’t have a specialty, make one.

II. Understand that this is for the betterment of us and those around us. We do what we do for ourselves, but also those in need.

III. There exists a chain of command, and it exists for a reason. Know where you sit, but don’t be afraid to speak for yourself.

IV. Those in need come before those who can pay. We exist for more than a paycheck. If someone needs us, we will be there.

V. There is a fine line between what is legal and what is right. We do not concern ourselves with the law, and will fight for what is right

VI. Those around you are here for their own reasons. As such, you are expected to respect their reasons, regardless of whether or not you agree with it.

VII. Because you can does not mean that you should, and vice versa. Understand your limits. If it puts others in danger, the answer is no.

VIII. The UEE, Overlords, and Rough & Ready have no power over us. Regardless of the system you’re in, allow no one to take control of you.

IX. Do it right the first time, or die trying. We do what we do for a reason: because we are good at it. If you can’t do it the first go around, practice until you can.

X. Side with nothing, side with no one, trust yourself and your family. Nobody comes before them.
