Throughout history, S.H.I.E.L.D. is about protecting at first and fighting at last.

History

History

Post World War II, Earth

After the defeat of Hydra and dismantling their organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. saw itself in place to defend earth from similar threats. The S.S.R. was founded not long after, in the 1940s.

S.S.R. and S.H.I.E.L.D.

Later in the 1960s, S.H.I.E.L.D. was an organization that co-existed with the S.S.R. but, was later merged and S.H.I.E.L.D. represented the organization and its interests. While the focus was still on research and protection, the organization started co-operating with the U.S. government and also enrolled in logistics.

Modern Day S.H.I.E.L.D.

With new technologies arose new threats on earth. Criminal organizations, groups and rogue scientists of all sorts started developing new ways to injure, terrorize or even doom the human race. As a reaction, S.H.I.E.L.D. became public in the years between 2010-2012.

From the Shadows into the Light

In 2014 a Hydra sleeper cell within S.H.I.E.L.D. took control and the S.T.R.I.K.E. Division was exposed to consist of Hydra members. More parts of S.H.I.E.L.D. were taken over by Hydra and the time after was known for a deadly fight between S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s properties and facilities and Hydra. In the end, two notable teams managed to uphold and a S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Phillip Coulson was built up parallel to Robert Gonzales’ “Real S.H.I.E.L.D.”. After the events on the Iliad aircraft carrier, the two splinter organizations merged back into Phil Coulson’s S.H.I.E.L.D.

Inhumans

Terrigen leakage after the Iliad incident caused a global outbreak of inhuman powers. Coulson’s team had trouble keeping the situation under control. The U.S. government reacted with the founding of the ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit). Due to redaction and damage and U.S. classification, not all information about inhumans is available.

UE-History

After longrunning negotiations and treaties, the UE allowed for S.H.I.E.L.D. to incorporate a Space Division to operate in the universe to not only protect the earth from threats but the known and populated universe. If S.H.I.E.L.D. has proven something in the time it existed, it’s strength, durability, willpower and a simple cause: Protection for those that can’t protect themselves.

Manifesto

“The principle S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded upon was pure.”
