SPaM Co. was founded by LeadBrick with the vision of bringing true research, discovery, and open knowledge-sharing to the mining and prospecting community of Star Citizen. Recognizing that much of the mining information available was either half-truths, outdated, or outright hoarded by individuals looking to maximize their own profits, Brick set out to change that.

SPaM Co. exists to cut through the misinformation and secrecy, making sure valuable knowledge is freely available to all. With early discussions and testing alongside his longtime gaming crewmate, Dig Bog, the foundation was laid for what would become a dedicated R&D initiative for the mining industry.

While still in its infancy, SPaM Co. aims to grow into the premier organization for mining intelligence, combining scientific exploration, practical field research, and real-time prospecting missions to build an open-source knowledge base of mineral-rich locations, efficient mining techniques, and optimized strategies. Unlike other prospecting groups, SPaM Co. is dedicated to sharing, not hoarding —because wealth in the ‘verse should be earned through skill, not gatekeeping.

Manifesto

SPaM Co. operates under a simple philosophy: knowledge should be free, progress should be shared, and mining should be efficient, safe, and optimized. We are a neutral, research-driven organization dedicated to prospecting, testing, documenting, and improving mining practices in the ‘verse.

We are not political, not corporate shills, and not here to play the power game. Our purpose is simple:

✔ Share that knowledge openly —no secrets, no hoarding.
✔ Protect our own when needed —because space can be dangerous.

Leadership & Structure:

SPaM Co. operates on a Council-based merit system. Leadership is not determined by rank, but by contribution and trust.
  • Ranks reflect contribution, not hierarchy. The more you contribute to research, discovery, or operations, the more respected your position.
  • Decisions are made by the Council, formed of veteran researchers, analysts, and mission leads.
  • *All members are equal in their right to mine, share, and participate*—but those who contribute more will naturally rise in influence.

Rules & Policies:

SPaM Co. follows a simple but firm set of conduct rules:
  1. Respect Other Miners – No hostility toward fellow miners, inside or outside SPaM Co.
  2. No Hoarding of Data – If you make a discovery, it is expected that you share it with the company.
  3. Misinformation is the Enemy – Do not spread false or misleading mining intel.
  4. Piracy is Fine (Within Limits) – We don’t care if you’re a pirate, as long as you don’t target miners or your fellow SPaM Co. members.
  5. No Griefing, Ever – We’re here to make the game better, not worse.
  6. Contribute What You Can – If you have useful data, share it. You don’t have to actively seek discoveries, but gatekeeping is not tolerated.
  7. Defense is a Necessity – When in group ops, follow security protocols to ensure safe prospecting missions.
  8. Play Your Way – No required participation in ops; casual and hardcore members welcome.

Divisions & Roles:

SPaM Co. is divided into specialized teams to keep operations running smoothly.
  1. Mining Division – The backbone of SPaM Co.; field prospectors and laser jockeys who gather resources and report findings.
  2. Advancement & Research – The analysts and testers, experimenting with tools, techniques, and market trends.
  3. Mission Planning & Logistics – The brains of the operation, organizing prospecting runs and mapping new locations.
  4. Transport Team – Moving raw materials safely from point A to B with efficiency and discretion.
  5. Security & Defense – Protecting our prospecting teams from pirate raids, griefers, and opportunists.
