Legion of Vega / VEGANS

The Legion of Vega, or LOVE, was founded by Commodore Taren Avalis after mustering out of the UEE Navy. The Commodore knew no other life than combat, and had served his Empire faithfully throughout his entire youth. Consequently, it seemed like destiny when the Vanduul decided to launch an attack upon Aremis and move the front of the battle even closer to the heart of humanity. Commodore Avalis knew that this attack was a call to arms.

Taren Avalis, callsign “Wolfang”, had been back upon his homeworld of Selene no more than a few months before the lure of battle sought to draw him back in. The Commodore had lost friends and family in the attack, and even more in his battles with the Vanduul while serving the UEEN. After many long nights mourning the dead and knocking back drinks with the survivors of Orion on his home planet, Taren Avalis vowed to continue the fight, by any means necessary. He invested his considerable earnings from the military into the newest, most powerful militia ship he was allowed to purchase, a RSI Polaris Corvette that he designated Liberator, and began amassing a personal fleet and rounding up like-minded individuals to crew his ships.

It was in this way that the Legion of Vega was born, sworn to protect the Vega system through endless vigilance, and having grand designs of pushing back against the Vanduul themselves by coordinating with other Militias and his old UEEN contacts and launching counter-offensives into nearby systems. Comprised mostly of bitter, hostile expatriates of the Orion system and proud and angry Vegans determined to never allow the attack on Aremis repeat itself, the Legion of Vega’s future shines bright. The UEE has increasingly encouraged militia activities, and the Legion of Vega seeks to make a name for itself as one of the best organized and outfitted militias in the galaxy. With battle-hardened leadership and excellent funding, they just might succeed at their mission.
