Old Earth has a rich and storied history littered with the remains of civilizations that rose and fell under the unstoppable tides of the ages. Threaded into the tapestry of the millennia lay the roots of a timeless culture that always adapted, overcame, absorbed, and conquered: Vikings.
We Rise.
The ancient Nordic peoples were explorers, raiders, farmers, mercenaries, traders, heroes, and villains. Throughout the ages, they cultivated their lands and endured even the harshest of climes and challenges. They raided and fought each other, and in that crucible of their own making, they forged themselves into one of the most powerful forces in history. They set forth from their shores in their longships and tested their strength against the seas, the winds, and all the peoples they encountered. They discovered and colonized. They adapted and absorbed. They took what they wanted and continued to hone themselves into the weapons that shaped centuries. They came from many nations, but became known by a single word that echoed forward through time: Viking.
It is in the tradition of these peoples that we establish ourselves in the present, some two thousand years later. We bind ourselves to their legacy and rise to the challenges of the stars. We endure the yoke of the UEE as we forge our future and cast ourselves into the void in starships that will again discover new worlds, conquer new peoples, and seize new treasures.
Amongst us are warriors, mercenaries, brigands, pirates, and thieves. But there are also explorers, traders, miners, farmers, healers, artists, and storytellers. Like the Scandinavians of old, we carve out our own destiny. Breaking the shackles of rules that would hold us down, while adapting and absorbing what we discover makes us stronger. We are our own crucible, challenging each other to grow stronger and weed out the weak.
Above all, we are united when threatened from the outside. To those that mean to do us harm, we become the shield wall upon which their weapons will shatter… and the swords, axes, and spears that will cut them down.
We sail the trackless black sea of the void between the stars.
We strike down our foes and chart our own destiny.
We live and die for honor and glory… and we will ascend to Valhalla!

Time will tell how some things shape up in Star Citizen. I’m a roleplayer at heart, but I won’t expect that from anyone else. I think we all have plenty of fun just bring our own crazy selves in space. That said, at some point, I think it would be fun to do some storyline stuff. If some of you are game for that, great! If not, it’s all good. We’ll hash it out as we go!
As for general stuff, there are really only a few important rules:
Rule #1: Always be polite and respectful in your OOC attitude. Your IC character may be a real piece of work… interacting with others in all manner of uncivilized and hostile manners, but make the effort to get along with folks in an OOC manner. There’s just no point is being rude for rude’s sake.
Rule #2: Mind the game’s ToS. We’re an IC Organization that lends itself to hostility against others, combat, and “piracy,” but we all love the ‘verse and enjoy the game. Don’t be stupid and get yourself into trouble of IRL variety with the people who run it.
Rule #3: Clearly our lore implies we are willing to indulge in questionable behavior. But let’s leave the worst of the worst unnamed. There’s no need to come off as children or edge lords willing to say the most shocking nonsense to get attention. Let’s keep a little dignity. This also calls back to rule #2: stay away from the kind of IC content that will put your shiny backside in a sling. If in doubt, ask before you indulge. let’s not wallow in the kind of deviance that will earn you a place on a watchlist somewhere.
o7 Space Vikings!
