Vortex Space Corps / VTXSC

When the Van’duul war pushed into the Virgil systems, the hasty retreat by UEE forces left the defenders unorganized and chaotic as the Van’duul’s advance did not slow. One fighter group, the 75th Fighter Wing of the 2nd Fleet, flew out to slow down the invaders to give the disorganized UEE forces time to evacuate civilians from the besieged planets. None survived, except by their memory held in the child of one of the flight leads. Evendur Ryndall decided upon being presented with his father’s medal to dedicate his life to beating back the Van’duul swarm and helping those hurt by the effects. After a short stint in the Navy, it became clear that the military forces were trapped in true bureaucratic gridlock and the only way to truly make a difference was to take a more privatized approach. After recruiting several close friends from the Navy, Vortex Space Corps was formed. They made a name for themselves battling pirates and the Nine Tails Syndicate, and debuted in their first large scale battle when the Van’duul made an incursion into the Stanton system. They also were contracted by the UEE navy to deal with the XenoThreat terror group, which allowed them to secure heavy industrial assets and a place in the Stanton system. They operate out of Port Tressler to this day, and continue to watch and wait for their true purpose to be fulfilled.
